I had a mini and got 9 people in it 10 including me as the driver and that was with one dwarf in the boot he just had to be carful of the battery:rofl:
One Mini, 28 people and a new Guinness World Record
To celebrate Guinness World Records day 28 people squeezed into a new BMW Mini, and 23 into a classic Mini.
Yeah well the BMW version ain’t a mini anymore in fact the countryman version is b___dy huge. The normal cooper version ain’t bad, much smaller and stylish then the countryman which in my opinion looks very square and ugly.
I have a mk4 Mondeo which is not a small car, a Countryman pulled up next to me at lights, I had to look up at the fucking thing to see the driver. Mini, THEY ARE NOT, they are too b___dy expensive and hold their price a lot better than the Austin/Leyland Mini did.
Poor sods we were squashed enough, however I did manage to drive it with all 10 of us in (not very fast though and definitely not over any bumps), with 23 I dare say they had to take the seats out, or were they all dwarfs
But you would miss the rust and the sub-frame problem, which made it crab down the road when driven.
The team, which consisted entirely of women, broke their previous record of 27, which they set last year. As well as occupying all of the Mini’s seats, the team squeezed on to the dashboard and into the footwells, while four managed to fit in the boot.
And having to tie string to the windscreen wipers when they failed one night, on our way back to barracks. Pissing down, me and the passenger couldn’t get them going quick enough so I had to do 15 mph for nearly 25 miles playing tug of war with the passenger
Seriously though modern cars in the last 20yrs seem to go on forever with no rust problems at all. I have a Mk2 Honda CRV and have never had anything wrong with it at all. Over 100,000 miles now and only the other week had to have a new back exhaust box replaced. Still on the original clutch, b___dy marvelous car.
My Mondeo doesn’t have patch of rust, and it is going on 12 years old with a 120,000 on the clock but it’s a diesel that that isn’t even run in yet. The only thing that lets modern cars down is all the gadgets and mod cons in them. I nearly bought Mazda with my army pension lump sum, but when I spoke to a mechanic of 30+ years he said to avoid them as the underneath rusts out pretty quickly as if they had been parked in a swamp.
The only problem i see with recent cars is the level of electronics they seem to rely on these days like all these touch screens etc etc. B___dy marvelous when they all work but just gets me a bit nervous.
I have had so many issues with the more modern cars going into limp mode at the drop of a hat and all it was, was a software glitch, nothing was actually wrong just something didn’t respond quick enough to the ECU so it threw it’s legs up in the air and put the car in limp mode. Price of spares, if you can get them, extremely limited working space under the bonnet and placement of things like EGRs which need cleaning. Worst of all, the fucking pollen filter replacement on mine is a nightmare you need hands the size of a toddlers to get in there, and be a contortionist to remove the bolts to get to it. All this is the manufacturer’s making it harder and harder to repair you own car so you have to go to them. That’s their fault for making vehicles that now last longer than ever before so they have to recoup their losses somehow.
Well Hondas are known for reliability. Glad you are happy with your car. I never had any problems with my car in nearly 10 years yet. And it’s a French car
Fully agree. Changing the oil filter on mine is a nightmare. You need two more elbows for that
The fuel filter on mines a s__tter, changed it couple of months ago easy to change but priming is another matter. And still the car had an air lock in it. I did nearly 60 miles parked up at home, the next morning it wouldn’t start as there was still air in the system. Oh and my engine is the Peugeot engine too.
Diesel Filter on mine is easy to change. It’s basically direct in front of you when you look under the hood.
Mines next to the fuel tank. Easy to get to if you have a jack, but as I said an absolute fucker to prime. So much so the garage I go to for my MOT won’t change them on a Friday, they don’t work on Saturdays so don’t fancy getting a call from an angry customer saying their car won’t start on Saturday morning and they are going out with the kids. According to them BMW’s are the worst of all for it.
Give me a Lada any day, built like a tank and there is so much room around the engine you could get the entire Russian football squad in there with it
Yep BMWs are known for s__tty things like that
Yes the first ones are Fiats with thicker body panels
