I must admit its a very strange feeling, she died peacefully in my homeland. Having the Queen as the head of state is all I have known, Prime Ministers have come and gone but she has always remained constant, I always watched the Queens speech every Christmas. I cannot get my head around the idea of the UK National anthem now being God Save The King or the bank coins and notes gradually changing. All football fixtures this weekend have been postponed as a mark of respect. 70 years on the throne is remarkable, RIP your majesty.
15 or 16 in all, I heard somewhere earlier

That last clip with Paddington Bear brought tears to my eyes
That was indeed a fantastic film to mark her Platinum Jubilee and thanks for posting it @John78. I heard an interview today from the writer of Paddington Bear film and he was so worried she would reject the script and not do the film. However, he said she loved it and when it came to film it she was an absolute natural at playing her part.
A wonderful woman and an unparalleled, outstanding Head of State. With the deepest of respect I mourn her death.
I retired early and have had 5 glorious years. How many years of retirement did the Queen enjoy? Absolutely none in fact she was on duty three days before she died. Utterly selfless devotion and an example for us all.
The stats on BBC today tell us that not only has she worked with 15 Prime ministers butalso with 14 US presidents and 7 popes Amazing.
- Truman
- Eisenhower
- Kennedy
- Johnson
- Nixon
- Ford
- Carter
- Reagan

- Obama
- Trump
- Biden
It always changes depending upon whether there is a king or queen.

- Francis I
I actually found myself singing the new words tonight so yes it has now officially changed to “king” and “him”.
She actually didn’t meet Johnson - he would not travel abroad when he took over from Kennedy, and after he was elected on his own, he was so engulfed in the Vietnam War that he was told if he made a planned trip to the UK, the protests would be so great they would shut down the entire city of London, so he didn’t go.
Yes I know. I just listed the ones who were in power during her reign
Technically not QUITE the right version, in terms of the EXACT melody we will sing. Thank you though for finding that video.
I was hoping she would live long enough to surpass Louis XIV. But I’m guessing she was just tired and wanted so much to be with her husband again. RIP.
