The Eurovision Song Contest

Eurovision is not equal to Europe. Every member of the EBU is able to participate. No matter where in the world.

Eurovision this year feels way more unpredictable than the last few editions.

Normally by rehearsal week there’s already a “this is obviously winning” narrative, but 2026 feels messy in an interesting way. Finland is still leading most betting odds, Greece and Denmark keep gaining momentum, and now Romania is suddenly getting dark horse hype after rehearsal reactions.

What I find interesting is that there doesn’t seem to be a clear jury destroyer either. France and Australia fit the classic “jury bait” profile, but neither entry feels universally dominant the way Loreen or Nemo did in their years.

Italy also sounds like one of those entries people underestimate during rehearsals and then it casually ends up top 5 on final night. That happens almost every year.

And beyond the music, Eurovision genuinely feels more politicized and chaotic now than even a few years ago. Some broadcasters distancing themselves, countries skipping the contest, fandom drama every single day… yet somehow everyone still watches and argues about it anyway.

There is quite some political views and politically angled stuff floating around. Even in the norwegian media there is quite some noise. Even so quite a lot of people do follow it anyway. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

its all more woke shit

After more than 10 years, I listened to a few songs from this year. Surprisingly, there are a lot of good and very good songs. And even more surprisingly, we (Romania) finally have a very good song. Definitely in the top 3. Finland is probably the best.

Moldowa and Greece are super funny

And I really like Serbia

I like Moldova but definitely not Grecia. Not sure what to say about Serbia

Maybe a little bit subjective, but i really believe that we have the best song this year :slightly_smiling_face:
