Helena is a so-called ‘Russian-German’ (a special term in Germany) born in Krasnoyarsk (Russia), but came to Germany with her parents at an early age. (According to German law, some of her parents must have had German roots) She doesn’t speak any Russian herself, except for the songs she can sing. You can see a good example here:
