I think its great that the Premium Subscriptions have this feature.
Is it possible that there is a way to scan by increasing the rate of speed to assure something doesn’t get missed? The only way I could figure out how to use it now is by trying to select a time to start from and then playing it. To pinpoint a time I use the feature that spaces out the timeline more.
Any ideas?
The cameras that are being used are one of three named brands they are either Hikvision, Annke or Pyronix, but likely Hikvision, and to be honest Annke and Pyronix accept the Hikvision firmware (they are all Hikvison insided). I have worked with these box cams for a few years now and they only fast forward at 4x and that is very jumpy with missed events. The problem you see with all the false events when nothing is happening could easily be solved by turning off the the motion sensing in the cameras settings and instead only using the PIR settings. The PIR picks up body heat only so would drastically reduce all of the spikes you can see on the timeline when nothing is happening, those spikes can be anything from curtains moving, changes in light and at night even particles of dust can trigger an event as they catch the infrared and reflect. I can only assume there is a reason why @VHTV_James have decided to use the standard motion sensing not the PIR but I don’t know why as it leads to hundreds of false alerts thus eating into the servers space, not to mention bandwidth costs. I think the feature you would like to see is doable but would likely use more bandwidth then is available. Just my thoughts, perhaps @VHTV_James can clarify?
It would be a great idea to use pir sensor it would cut down on fails every time nothing is happening.
Also I think Vhtv should leave all things happening on cameras for 24hours and stop removing things without an explanation if they removed something they could have categories of why it’s been removed (Just my opinion)
Thanks for your explanation. It is also true that I dismiss things as false events that I later see screen shots during those periods showing that I gave up and moved on to the next event too soon. Sometimes I see what looks like nothing happening for periods of time and see events actually happening. I can see why going at 4x would be grainy but I’m just trying to skip periods of non events. If they weren’t there then one could assume nothing happened.
