Or Franchise. Most of the US brands in Russia are international franchised to Russian investors. I know Pizza Hut, Starbucks, KFC and others are. They can stay open as independent, but will not get any stock or support from corporate. McDonalds was almost to only one with company-owned stores and when they closed they kept all the employees on the payroll.
