I am almost entirely convinced it was indeed AI generated as there is a rather unnatural ‘feel’ to the image.
As a photo editor myself (who tries not to use AI unless I have to … such as that which is now incorporated into Photoshop), I get used to seeing this kind of thing and there is just something which seems a little ‘off’ for me, to make it real.
