How does VHTV think of providing a download-button for the videos in the archive?
Many other porn-sites are offering different subscription models, bases on “streaming only” and “download allowed”. I would pay more than the premium subscription for the download option.
I understand that heavy-downloading should be prevented. You don’t want to have a user with a single month subscription to download the whole video archive. However, this issue could be solved with some download-limits or other rules, like “you can download the videos which will be posted during your subscription in the future, but nothing from the past”.
I know for sure that our management has been planning to implement such a feature for a long time by now, but lots of additional implementations of content protection is needed and huge amount has already been done. So I think that possibility of finally getting such a feature is pretty high
well… if somebody really wants to upload vhtv videos to youporn and other sites… you would just need to screenrecord the videos :p. (and no, i don’t do that - i am asking for a legal option, aka download-button).
so the argument: “the videos would be on the internet” → well, that argument is a little bit weak.
as kaya just mentioned, water marks or other video protections are possible. if somebody is uploading videos to other sites, you would know, which user did it.
so, if you want to provide a download-button for your subscribed users, it would be possible without opening “pandora’s box”.
Better be careful, our system may ban you upon certain thresholds. We are quite “generous” with people doing that for now, but we also see the activity and take measures when needed.
and we can make our own recordings and keep it for us?
if we can’t recordings or take screenshots without bann there is zero interest for me now to stay on VH
Well if we are going to do that might as well start banning of all images as well. If VHTV is what it is today is what has always been since day one. Start trying to stop people could open up a whole can of worms.
You were banned, warned and unbanned. Next time you’ve detected abusing downloading the videos, i don’t think our support will unban you. 52 downloaded videos over 7 days is no joke.
As said above, we may introduce download feature in the future once we get satisfied with content protection outside of VHTV. We had success, but we need one more step to achieve to be able to let users download favorite videos.
Until then, and after that, illicit downloading will be detected & users will get warnings and bans. That’s the way.
Would it be interesting for you to have Favorites function in archive instead? That would let you collect those you like in one place & maybe categorize up to your preference within such section.
