Hello. I’m living in Turkey. Economy is getting worse day by day.
1$ = 9,2 TL.
Membership with taxes 500 TL. Average income of Turkish people 3000-3500 TL. For example game services Steam offers affordable prices in our country. 60-70% Cheaper price than Europe. Can’t such a system be made for countries whose currency is low against the dollar?
We have plans to introduce geo-varied pricing, but we are far from development stage yet. Sorry, but the actual pricing applies to everyone as for now.
You know how it works for Spotify, Netflix. People always find a way to bypass limitations and this is fine. If we do geo-dependent pricing, it will check several client’s parameters, including IP and payment source country. It means that in order to subscribe with pricing for Turkey, you would need to use Card issued in Turkey.
Ok lets say you go geo-pricing to make it affordable for those in those countries, what next. Will you start giving better deals for those on pension fixed income, students who earn nothing and others?
must be careful with the exchange rate of verotel and segpay, they count their fees, I pay in euros but if I pay in dollars it will cost me + 1 to 3 euros according to verotel or segpay
in france the price is = 5 netflix subscriptions… he prefers 3 subscriptions at 35€/M over 1 month rather than 10 subscriptions at 15€/M all year round…
In Australia, our membership dues is coming up soon. We’re looking at the yearly price and we are debating whether to stay in. It’s currently at around $420. It’s not super expensive, but it’s not cheap either as we probably only watch about 10 hours a week. I spent more time on the forum than the actual viewing as most of the action happens when we are as___p. So my wives are debating whether to keep the membership again.
