You’re completely right. I was thinking I should stop watching this content after this happened. Even when Amelie and Lucas were the only ones I was watching lately on this website.
His death is in on my mind past two days and it’s terrible feeling. I can’t imagine how Amelie has to feel now. If there would be some official donation link where she would really get the money from I would go for it as well. It’s not much in this situation but at least something we can do. Anyways I still can’t believe it all ended like this.

It is most likely that Amelie is the owner of the account, purely because it was used to purchase things during and before the war, the chance that Lucas has access to the internet and had time to do internet banking at the front seems very likely to me small

the names of the account are ‘artist names’, that is, not their real names, but the names as we know them, so it might as well have been mickeyMouse or some other fictitious name

OK, I’ll try again to explain the problems I see with this PayPal account. We only have very little actual information here, so this is mostly based on my own experiences.
I only have experiences with how these things are done in Germany, but the way it’s done is actually very logical and reasonable, so I can only assume it’s somewhat similar in the Ukraine.
We know Lucas and Amelie had this PayPal account, and we know that VHTV doesn’t know whether or not that PayPal account is accessible to Amelie anymore.
And it isn’t really the PayPal account that matters, it’s the bank account behind that PayPal account that I’m worried about.
I could say my PayPal account is only an interface for my real bank account, every Euro I spend via PayPal is taken from my bank account, every Euro I receive via PayPal goes directly into my bank account.
I could let my girlfriend use may PayPal account, could let her use my online banking, she could even get her own debit card to my bank account, with her name printed on it.
When I get run over by a truck all of that goes away. The bank locks down my bank account, it basically becomes a black hole for money. Money can come in, for example via my PayPal account, but nothing gets out. No withdrawals, no debit card, no online banking, no PayPal shopping. Until the authorities have determined who is legally entitled to access my funds.
And that won’t be my girlfriend, because from a banking and legal point of view “girlfriend” is equivalent to “random stranger”. Unless I left a waterproof Last Will and Testament in my girlfriend’s favor, my money would be split up between my parents and siblings.
We don’t know how Lucas and Amelie arranged their finances. I could be that they created a shared bank account for their VHTV income and PayPal donations, including sensible arrangements in the event that something should happen to one of them. But most young lovers don’t worry that much about banking technicalities or their own mortality. I think it’s more likely they just used one of their individual bank accounts.
And that’s why, from my point of view, I see a very real possibility that whatever money goes to that PayPal account may not be accessible to Amelie anymore. In the worst case, if they used Lucas’ bank account for all of this, it might even be that she’s cut off from her VHTV income right now.
Am I worrying too much? Well, this definitely worries me. If we want to support Amelie we need to know if our support actually reaches her.

I have been away and it is heart breaking to get back, check in and to hear this terrible news. My heart goes out to you Amelie and to all Ukrainians who suffer this terrible war. May you find such peace as you can in these awful circumstances. Like many of us on the Forum for whom you and Lucas enlightened our lives, I grieve for you and your family and friends.

I see people are cautious of sending money via PayPal, can you do as a special occasion allow for people to send VHTV tokens without the various cuts taken off? So Amelie will receive the full amount.

Damn, this is hard.
I came here for my voyeuristic fetish.. nothing else, ye its fun to “get to know” the people and have your favorites but in the end we look at them like pornstars, get our satisfaction and continue on with our lives.
Never thought I’d get so invested in these strangers. I guess since Lucas was the only VHTV participant who had “serious” business to take care off outside of the website this couple always intrigued me.
It also makes me feel “dirty” that we see these people as nothing more then sex-objects and we sometimes forget that these are people with their own troubles and tribulations.
All love and strenght to Amelie and their families. This war is dreadfull, completely senseless and it - like so many other wars - drags younger generations into a conflict formed by older generations.
RIP Lucas, you might be gone but you are immortalised as a hero for your country.

Does that go through her managers, Alex and Lina, before she gets any of it? I know that’s been a concern in the past.
That’s why I said about various cuts being taken off, at the start of the war VHTV did this but I don’t know if they paid directly or through the managers. Even if it did go through Alex & Lina, VH could confirm with Amelie to make sure that she gets the full amount.

A confirmed/updated PayPal account, new or old, is not the real issue. Under the circumstances, people want to know if money added to this PayPal account, will then be deposited into a bank account that Amelie has full, unrestricted access to. That is the question that has not, as yet, been answered outright. Please read this post for a more thorough explanation.
