You know that the maximum display size of GIFs and WEBPs in the forum is 690x500 pixels, anything bigger will be scaled down? Your 1288x820 file is displayed as 690x439.
Of course one could right-click and open the graphic in a new tab to see it full size, but I don’t think anybody really does that.
You can get smaller files and afford higher framerate if you stick to those dimensions and switch to the webp format.

Thank you for the information about bit rates and GIF file sizes.
But I have to admit that I know almost nothing about image processing. I just cobble these things together as best I can.
So next time, I’ll choose a smaller format so the file size is more appropriate.
