I agree that sometimes Kira looks unhappy and seems to have to do whatever Nina wants.
But in reality, things may just be the other way around.
Most likely, they are very happy with how things are going. If not, one of them would have left, no?

Their relationship is way more complex than many realize or give them credit for. If you’d ever seen/heard Kira go off on Nina, you’d know how ridiculous that statement is. They have been together for a decade and there is a lot of give and take both ways.
Not to mention demeaning to people in actual bondage, which does still exist.
