New Design Discussion

Well, I can’t really judge because my picture has looked like this for 2 days…

I can’t even log in anymore because I can’t find the button anymore… :see_no_evil: :see_no_evil: :see_no_evil:

Wow, really, not sure what to suggest apart from a deep scan and perhaps a lump hammer
Your zoom factor seems all to hell for a start.
To quote a VH solution, have you cleared yer cache?, sorry was in rathe bad taste
Another VH solution, have you tried other browsers, no doubt you have.?

Ok, the zoom factor is 30%.
I actually cleared the cache, but it didn’t change anything.
The image is from the Firefox browser.

Alternatively, I tried the Edge browser. It’s working without any problems so far. But Firefox is my default browser because many of my plugins run on it and don’t work in Edge or don’t even exist.

Have you tried right clicking on the actual playing video box? Might be an option there you could click

No, nothing works except that the image becomes even larger…that’s why the zoom size is at 30%, otherwise the image disappears to the right of the screen.

I must have tried every browser known to man i think and maybe some that are not  But have always returned to Edge as it works well for me.
Must admit never liked Firefox, always seemed to have so many settings.
They all have their quirks i think but in my view Edge seems the most stable and at least i know my way round it well, just can’t be bothered to do anymore experimenting.
Better the devil you know eh.
Well for you then it seems just keep Edge for VH and use your Firefox for everything else eh :+1:

Definitely not.
I just hope that @VHTV_James doesn’t make the new design fully available until it runs smoothly on all browsers.
In any case, the old design should be retained for that long.

I tried Firefox some years back, but I have never been satisfyingly convinced by its overall functionality. So I have always ended up by not using it at all. Sadly. :joy:

Well i have now settled on using the new design as sooner or later we will have to anyway.
I think many of the other guys have given such good tips for it i find it normal using it now.
I like the dark mode i must admit as use dark mode almost everywhere else where i can. Much more restful on the eyes.

Having just googled the issue, it does seem like it’s a common fault with Firefox with questions asked seemingly nearly every update, some questions on the Firefox forum go back 10 years about it, this could possibly be the solution to reset it

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1327298

Someone seems to be tinkering with the system at the moment…

Now the image is almost at normal size and the browser shows zoom factor 80%…

But the font is still too small. It should be 100%, but when I adjust the zoom factor, the image just gets bigger and the font gets smaller again…

Thanks Shyguy, I’ll look into that right away.
However, the problem should actually also occur in the old design, which is not the case.

Same here pal, could never really get on with Firefox TBH.
But you can only use as you find what suits you, we are all different. :+1:
My argument for Edge is that Microsoft have modified it (being a Chrome base) to fit into their system so it should run well in Windows.(That’s the theory anyway )
I know others probably work as well but Edge is my choice anyway.
If i should ever have a funny with Edge i will temporally use Brave.

I’ve been using Firefox since Windows 95 came out and have never had any real problems with it…

That’s a very good point although I assume both websites are built using different software so there could be differences between them

I also did use Brave briefly, but ended up with throwing that under the bus as an option as well. :joy:

I had a hell of a job to stop using Google Chrome a long while ago which seemed a hard habit to break as everyone seems to have, or had, Google imprinted on ones brain
But finally managed it lol, use DuckDuckGo as my search engine, finally got Google out of my brain
Funnily could never get on with Bing for some reason.

I use every other option available except Bing. That is how it is and always will be for me. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

The real problem with the zoom factor is that in the old design with the zoom factor only the font to the left and right of the stream can be enlarged or reduced and the stream itself remains its size.

In the new design, however, the stream becomes larger and thereby reduces the font on the left and right.

Yeah same with me with the old version

In the new version the zoom function works as it should do, in other words the whole screen gets enlarged as a whole entity so you end up with just the streaming view, no text at all.
