Meat loaf

This is nothing to do with VHTV so here goes ,Meatloaf is sadly no longer with us ,but what do you think is his best song ,I think I do anything for love ,whats yours

TBH I never liked any of his music. Each to their own of course because my wife likes his music. She dragged me along to see him live in 2010 and besides my wife even some of his fans were really disappointed. One guy told me it was his 5th time to see him but on that occasion he was awful. To me he just seemed to scream out of tune. But I think he was getting too old for live gigs at that stage. My wife later said, we should have bought the Simply Red tickets instead.

RIP. I really liked his music. :guitar: :grinning:

Being a big fan of his I can’t make up my mind, so for me they’re all equally the best R.I.P. Meatloaf

Wasn’t a massive fan but the Bat out of Hell album is one of the greatest of all time in my opinion with For crying out loud being my favourite track

no forget simply red but yes you are right pop stars are good in their day but should stop and relax its like the rolling stones ,who wants to see them they are about in their 70s or 80s now the ones that are still alive that is ,but going back to meat loaf maybe one of the best

The best album was definitely “Bad Out Of Hell”. And from that album my favorite was “Paradise By The Dashboard Light”.
Meat Loaf - R.I.P. - You were one of the good guys.

I’m more of a Bowie person but I first noticed Meat Load when “I would do anything for love” and the Bat out of Hell 2 album came out. Got that album and liked it quite a lot. Then I got the original Bat out of Hell which was so much better. Simpler and more authentic. Meat Loaf may be leaning towards kitsch, but in that first album it is such honest and sincere kitsch. With the distance of few decades I’ll say pretty much every song on the first Bat is a timeless classic, and Meat Loaf’s voice was so powerful and energetic. Unfortunately that voice deteriorated over the decades. And one has to acknowledge that the real genius behind Bat out of Hell was Jim Steinman. Nonetheless Meat Loaf was a great performer and I’d call the Bat out of Hell album one of the outstanding masterpieces of Roch’n’Roll history. If you never listened to that whole album just give it a shot.

Absolutely agreed that Bat out of hell was an amzing album Could have been Queen They could have done a lot of each others stuff. The diference is that i am not sure i ever wanted to see Meatloaf live.

Great artist and performer it will be sadly miss R.I.P

me too ,but both was good at what they did ,both are sadly missed
