No problem, putty to us is only used in glazing. You probably mean something like Polyfilla which is the trade name. Comes in a tube usually or a powder which you mix with water.

Very good filler. And relatively cheap. And easier to sand than different products in my experience.

That’s it, don’t make it too runny but just a smooth paste so it’s easily spread and fills the cracks.
