We’ve got a couple of important updates due to new legal changes in the UK.
Free access in the UK is temporarily going away
Starting 25 July 2025, free users in the UK won’t be able to access the site for a while.
This is because of the Online Safety Act 2023, which brings in stricter age-verification rules for 18+ content. We’re already working on the necessary systems, and we will be back for free users in the UK as soon as everything’s in place and compliant.
Debit card payments not going through?
Thanks to the same law, UK users might run into issues when paying with debit cards. Right now, we’re only able to accept credit cards.
If your payment or rebill fails with a debit card, switching to a credit card should do the thing.
We know this isn’t ideal, and we really appreciate your patience while we sort things out. Thanks for sticking with us.
When VHTV was very new (in 2017) they offered a different access solution (I assume a VPN server) for users in Turkey and in the Middle east. Maybe that could be a temporary solution for UK users?
I mean each internet law made up by politicians proofed to be ineffective and most likely won’t last long anyways or wil be circumvented soon.
Verotel won’t like that, if the card is registered to a different country then the one the payment is trying to be made from Verotel will likely block it, I know from my personal experience with them
