Ok. if I have to, my cheer goes to Argentina. Even though I also like Spain, I remember Argentina in the 1978 World Cup. I was rooting for the Netherlands back then. They had some of my all time favourite players, like Neeskens, Rensenbrinck and Haan. Still, Argentina had a great team too, with Ardilles, Passarella, Kempes and so on, and they won 3-1.
I liked Spain around 2010, with Xavi, Inestsa and Puyol, but Argentina has more history for me. And Messi has in my opinion been the best player in the world for the past 15-20 years. So sorry Winston, if I have to, it’s Argentina for me

Maybe you have seen this picture, but I’ll post it anyway. Here is Lionel Messi and Lamine Yamal in 2007, when Messi was 20 years and Yamal 5 months old.
The story is that in 2007 Barcelona was making a calendar for charity, with pictures of the club’s star playes together with children born in the Barcelona area. Somehow Messi ended up with Yamal. What a coincidence! 19 years later they meet again in the World Cup final
