I’ve now seen several slow-motion replays, and there was no contact from Oscar.
Leclerc was simply unlucky that his rear left drive wheel lost its grip on that rain gutter. That’s what I think, anyway. It’s a shame for him and Ferrari, but the main thing is that he’s unharmed after that heavy impact.
As for Hamilton’s move at the start, we can discuss that again at the end of the race.
But after the restart, Lewis is at least back up front again.

And there’s nothing coming close to Mercedes for a long time. They alone determine the outcome of the race.
Ferrari must be asking themselves whether their updates were the right ones.

That’s what I’m saying too. Lewis should have been given fresh tyres on lap 34 or 35. Then he’d have had a better chance of making the podium. As it was, he was a toothless warrior.

That’s exactly what Mercedes will be aiming for, unless something out of the ordinary happens. And George Russell will know full well that, unless something unusual happens to Kimi, he simply won’t become world champion. I think the roles at Mercedes have long since been decided.

That’s certainly possible. But even Charles didn’t mention it. And you can’t really make it out clearly in the photos. And even if there was a problem, I think it was so minor that it didn’t cause that massive spin-out shortly afterwards. Personally, I’d be more inclined to blame the lost grip on his left-hand side. It could also be a faulty differential, where the drive to the left-hand wheel has failed. And with these forces at play, the right-hand drive wheel practically overtakes you.
But be careful – this is purely technical speculation.
