During the race, I was wondering why they didn’t change that front wing during the pit stop.
They always complain immediately when any small part falls off because of the aerodynamics.
I felt the same. I was waiting that he got told he needs to come in for repairs (Black and orange flag)
Today I read the rumour that Oscar and Charles might swap places in 2027 ![]()

Are there inspectors in the pit lane in Formula 1, like in Indy Car?
They monitor the pit stops.
Because the race organizers need to know or be able to assess whether this part will stay in place or fly off.
If it flies off, I think it could cause tire damage to other participants.
I think it’s the pit crew, who decide on what do to with a damaged front wing.
Because as you say if it flew off, it could hit another car, but chances are it would hit the metal screens and then the safety car would’ve been deployed.
It shows how much more confident Max is. As he takes the Apex a bit wider, but allows him to hit the power a bit earlier. Unless your name is Lance, and it’s a one way trip to the tyre barrier, after doing a doughnut.
I don’t know. I believe there have already been requests from race control to drive to the pits to attach or remove damaged parts. But whether it is up to the crew to assess whether the part is secure or not is the question for me. I don’t know.
Because the safety car is then a major intervention in the race, I would argue. And I think that’s what race control wants to avoid.
Same here. It’s just odd, that if a back marker comes into the pits with damaged front wing. They replace it at the same time as the tyres, but as we saw in Singapore, a front runner comes in, and just do the standard pitstop.
Mercedes have finally sorted their drivers out. They’re keeping their current setup of Russell and Antonelli for next season at least.

Strange to see Leclerc at the back of the pack. I know it’s FP1, but even then I would’ve thought knocking on the door of the top 10. Especially where you see Hamilton in the other Ferrari.
Leclerc and Sainz had both issues with the gearbox, so they did not do a fast lap
Hope they can fix it, because I don’t know if either of them have any spare engine allowances left. If not it’ll be a grid penalty.
gearbox changes are no problem, they can use as many as they want
