4 hours later…… €5,000 fine for Mercedes instead of the normal sporting punishment due to unusual circumstances

Edit: for clarity same applies to Russell as well

Carlos lucky to get away with just an reprimand

Max would have been given 20 second penalty

from the pressconference:

Verstappen had earlier claimed that he “has the wrong passport" for the F1 paddock, inferring there is a British bias, so he stopped the press conference to hit back, saying: “I have a quick question here. I appreciate all of you being here, but I don’t see any British press. They have to run to the airport or anything?

“They don’t know where the press conference is? You know, that’s a fair question. That’s a fair question.”

Does this make any sense to anyone

“ In the opinion of the Stewards although the driver breached the regulation this was
influenced by the driver ahead of him and as such he was not predominately
responsible for the breach. As such the stewards decide to take no further action
having held the driver immediately ahead of him at fault.”

Yuki started in front of Lawson yet neither get a penalty due to the car in front being to blame

no, they both should have been given a penalty
maybe not as big as Lando, but they were wrong and not according the rules

but nothing about Russel and Norris right now, so Russel will get a penalty then also?

I agree they should get something, Yuki started in front of Lawson, the stewards hold the driver in front responsible but Yuki gets away with no penalty

ah… Lando and George are set to pay 5000 dollar each for that… so they will have a bad night becaue of that

Just been updated they both got a reprimand and €5,000 fine

really time to put 4 proffesional stewards there who are there every race, this is getting a farce

The fact it has took 5 hours to announce the final result is shockingly embarrassing for the sport

and the stewards missed this…

Lando is behind Piastri, Lawson, Alonso and Hamilton in the runoff area.
Yet he rejoined ahead of all 4.
How is that not leaving the track and gaining advantage?

5000 bucks is just being counted for being “small” money anyway. A drop in the ocean. En dråpe i havet for å si det på norsk da. :fire: :fire:

Was he was in front of all 4 before running wide?

i believe so yes, but just don’t seem right to me to keep your position then

Lando didn’t keep his position, Oscar was ahead of him

come on Lando… you don’t need this…

“I don’t care what people say, staying out was not the right thing to do, it shouldn’t have been red flagged but obviously that was the crash in the end which caused the red. That’s life sometimes – you take a gamble, that has paid off for them. It’s not talent, it’s just luck. [We were] a bit unlucky, that’s all.”

this he said in the same interview

“Max was easily quicker than us and I think if he went from the front he probably would have lapped us. The pace was good, I think similar to George but the Red Bull was very fast today."

How come he’s not right ? Max was never winning if it wasn’t the red flag. Russel was even more upset
