Ah so it’s more a marinara with the meat on the side.
Just pasta twirls in an ordinary looking tomato sauce, a burger (or maybe even a meat cutlet) with whatever kind of salad that was… I think.

Oh so sad times marinara and pasta. 
Well whatever it was, it looked quite tasty. Although personally, I prefer any pasta dish to have copious amounts of cheese (macaroni cheese, for example, with my Mum’s home made cheese sauce).

I just looked at the jar. It’s premade marinara sauce. The way I read both of your comments was Flora was putting plain unseasoned tomato sauce from a can on pasta.
Oh OK, well in that case I ‘stand’ corrected. I thought it might have been something akin to tomato ketchup or similar.
I do not know for sure, but the glass jar looks more like premade marinara sauce you would buy from a store.

Yes looking at it now, you are right, it does.
I have several jars of pasta sauce just like that in my cabinet right now, however I prefer to heat and add seasoning to it before serving.
(EDIT) Meatballs are also a good addition.
I’m glad to see you will finally be able to get them fixed. Will it be your wisdom teeth in the back of your mouth? If so, I hope they don’t take too much wisdom from you.

Flora kind of did that. She made meat patties on the side to go with the marinara and pasta.
I agree with you I prefer to have the marinara sauce heated as well.
The meatballs in the sauce also add flavor to the sauce, from the beef fat in the meat.
It is perfectly safe to eat it cold out of a jar since she is keeping the jar refrigerated. Maybe how they eat it is a cultural thing?

Well this marinara you are referring to, might not technically be the same as pasta sauce (Dolmeo, being a good example of a brand sold in the United Kingdom), where clear heating instructions are given.
I will plead a degree of ignorance on the subject though, as it’s been ages since I have done anything like that, myself.

Well it makes sense now but in all honesty, I would never have guessed that was what it was, if you hadn’t shown that jar to me. Thank you for solving the mystery for us!
