There are many factors, leaving Brazil for Europe much younger than they used to, is probably the main one.

Being an Argentina fan is totally fine - regardless of your background. But the way some people are almost putting this team on a pedestal, given what they’ve actually shown in this tournament so far, is a little detached from reality. At the end of the day, though, results are what count, and the story isn’t finished yet. If Argentina somehow manage to win the World Cup without really hitting top gear, I’d have to give them credit for that - even if I didn’t enjoy the way they went about it. But right now, I’m not buying it just yet…

It’s rare, obviously, but we actually have someone here on the forum who supports Argentina despite having Brazilian roots, and I have absolutely no problem with that. I can relate to it because I’ve experienced something similar myself. In my own country, I’ve also become a fan of a club that is a massive rival of my local team. Despite the rivalry, I still feel connected to both teams.
At the end of the day, football is personal, and everyone should be free to support whoever they want.

From my personal perspective, i can agree with you. I very well know that my national team can’t fight for such trophies ( well, we haven’t even qualified for almost a lifetime 
), so it is quite acceptable to support one of the biggest names in football ( especially when we’re not qualified ).

I was wrong. They proved in the final stages that they can step up and decide a match when it really matters. Whether it was an entertaining performance is a different question… 
Btw, Argentina are not in first place anymore, even with the number of matches played being level again. 
There’s no possible way that, with this kind of football, Argentina can beat England. Never ever
