I thought it was good that the first game was in Mexico. That way, at least for the opening match, we were spared the dose of megalomania that awaits us in the final.

it was a friendly and so close to world cup kickoff , france knew ivory coast are physical players and france forwards where to scared of getting injured , you could see that clearly

As absurd as it may sound, I’ve often had the impression that it’s actually better for good teams to concede a goal first rather than score the first one. Good teams turn the game around. Not-so-good teams lose it despite a 1-0 lead.
