Discussion about Russian invasion of Ukraine

True.

He is old; and there are so many rouge states around the world US needs to deal with; thus, I’m not surprised, and forgive :slightly_smiling_face:

In my opinion, they need mediators from several areas. Personally, I am not sure if China is the best here. Damn. It is such a precarious situation - that I am not even sure what to say.

Hell, I would mediate. Sit me down with both parties.

I see what you mean, but Russia doesn’t respect many countries around the world but they do repect/fear China, so I don’t know it could or not be a good choice and we will just have to wait and see.

The one thing is that might not agree with Russia that Ukraine themselves requested it, so they might see that as a chess move by Ukraine and reject it.

China would be good for several reasons. China has many interests in this being resolved quickly:

  1. Economic interest. They do not want to decide if they want to make business with the west or Russia
  2. They need Russia. They do not want Russia under so much pressure or even people starting to stand up against Putin. Because situation in their country is not much different.

Well, I have not seen the news yet about Ukraine asking China, but my cautious nature lies with the fact that even China has similar mentalities where they think Taiwan is part of China…but let’s choose not to talk about that at the moment :shushing_face:

Let’s see what plays out today.

As I said it is only talk and nothing confirmed

Interesting read. My only concern is that China is against sanctions. They may try to pursue a path where they ask Ukraine to address this issue, but I think we are way pass that. The international community is too involved.

Is there anything they could mutually agree on?

In other times I would say that’s really sad, but in these times I say b___dy good job.

I wonder how much longer Putin will be able to hide and lie about these recordings, the number of deaths, what his army is doing… to his own people. I cannot believe that the nation is turning a blind eye.

I wonder how stupid the Russian Army is? You can have 1000 of tanks when they all drive on a road in a convoy they get taken out one by one. Luckily it seems they do not have any idea.

Europe has blocked Russia Today and other governmental press. Putin will do the same. Maybe already done. He is trying to keep the truth hidden and lie to his people. It is our duty to inform as many Russians as we can. Via social media and maybe perhaps via our contacts with participants here. I am talking to some, and it is not easy. Some of them still believe everything the national news is telling them. We can’t blame them. They have been fooled for generations. But we have to try and convince them. Don’t get into fights, use logic and be polite. The power of the Russian people can be used to stop this madness.

I’ve read that Turkish drones do a very good job on this field :+1:

I think it is all too evident that the Russian military have suffered through their arrogance and are not learning their lessons, good job too, let them keep on being stupid.

I alraedy learned playing Command & Conquer years ago that it never works attacking with a straight line of tanks :joy: :joy:

That’s a shame as I enjoyed being a troll on their comment page, but it was hosted by Disqus, which k__led the plugin a few days ago.

What was strange (or maybe not) that half the posters were called ‘Keith from New Zealand’ or ‘Brian from Manchester’

That crap TV is still available in UK, at least at SKY platform; that’s very strange
