Iâm not going to contradict myself from what I said earlier and yes I understand the risk of WW3 (as also stated earlier) but looking back isnât it interesting how NATO reacted with a multi national f___e after Kuwait was invaded? A place much further away ââBUTââ⊠floating on oil. The World was told Saddam had W.O.M.D. They were not nukes but still nasty even though in the end no W.O.M.D. were found.
We know Russia has nukes yes but I feel a lot more should have been done to help the Ukrainians. I would like to see a limitless supply of weapons from NATO countries and very hi-tech weapons as well allowing them to fight Russia at all levels. My only concern is the West entering and long proxy war with Russia.
Thatâs why I feel a lot more should have been done prior to the invasion because it would have sent a message to Putin that this will not go well for Russia if you decide to invade. After all the British and American governments were talking about this for weeks before it happened. The West was too slow to react for either one of three reasons, 1. Stupidity, 2. Lack of foresight as in âIFâ this happens then what do âWEâ do?, 3. Cowardness mixed with how much money will all this cost? Perhaps its all three!! Big mistakes were made by the West prior to this invasion, thatâs for sure.
Imagine implementing all those restrictions & sanctions weeks ago and telling Russia⊠We will only lift them âAfterâ you remove âALLâ your troops from the border. You might say hindsight is a great thing (true) but we were told for weeks this would happen right? Iâll leave it there!
We Irish fully support the Ukrainians along with the UK Government. ukpolska you already stated how you feel about the UK reaction (silly Boris and I agree with that) but remember the UK Government was actually the first European country to send weapons to the Ukrainian Government.
As you all know we are an Island nation but we will welcome refugees from our neighbours / friends. I know it wonât be home for them like they knew it but we will do our best for them like all other European countries.
To end this post on a lighter / funny note I promise to limit their access to Irish pubs. We actually donât _____ as much as people say we do God Bless Ukraine

Looking back in time makes it much easier to predict the future. I donât think we should risk nucleair war. Looks like Putin just wants an excuse to push the red button. Heâs only a few steps away from nothing left to lose. He needs to be stopped from the Inside. The Russians themselves will have to make it clear to him that he has made a mistake, a misjudgement. If the Russian people would stand up against him before it is too late, Russia can become great again. It is the people who can make a country great, not a dictator.

The problem is he still has to many cold war supporters and people of his country who still believe in him. If you look at recent past history, If you stand up against him you are in prisoned, poisoned or just disappear completely. The people are not strong enough at present to over throw him. sad.
