On 5 July, the agency’s website published another Statement by the Director General on the situation in Ukraine (Update 171 – IAEA Director General Statement on Situation in Ukraine | IAEA) (specifically on ZNPP). It states that Rafael Mariano Grossi “has not yet observed any visible traces of mines or explosives.” And these are the words used by Russian media and propagandists.
"IAEA says there are no signs of mines at ZNPP" - this is the headline we can see on the web, which came from the Russian branch of the BILD publication. But let’s look at the full version of the Statement on the agency’s website.
The Statement says that there are no mines in the accessible areas of the ZNPP, in particular, in the cooling pond and the general area of the reactors. It goes on to say that the IAEA representatives “are not granted access to the roofs of reactor units 3 and 4, as well as access to parts of the turbine halls and some parts of the cooling system at the plant” - these are the very places that Ukrainian intelligence drew attention to and reported on being mined by President Zelensky in his address.

"Now we have information from our intelligence that the Russian military has placed objects similar to explosives on the roof of several power units of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Perhaps to simulate an attack on the plant. Perhaps they have some other scenario in mind. But in any case, the world sees - and cannot help but see!" the President said.
"Given the military tension and increased activity in the region where this large nuclear power plant is located, our experts must be able to verify the facts on the ground. Their independent and objective reports will help to clarify the current situation on the ground, which is crucial at a time when there are unconfirmed allegations and counter-allegations," said Director General Grossi.
So how can you detect the fact of mining in areas that are not accessible? Grossi pointed to the absence of shelling, which the Russians are actively claiming, and Moscow’s military presence on the territory.
“Director General Grossi said the IAEA team has not reported any recent shelling or explosions, and added that the military presence on the site appears to be unchanged.” the statement said.

A Chaotic Retreat And Cluster Bombs For Ukraine!
Cluster bombs are very dirty in many ways including a 10% dud rate (basically 10% of the many bomb-lets or small bombs released at once from above do not detonate) leaving unexploded ordnance on the ground for sometimes years causing civilian deaths or serious injuries. Over 100 countries agreed NOT to ever use or export them. Some countries have not signed up to this including Russia (who have been using them in Ukraine regularly) USA and Ukraine.
It actually makes sense to use them against Russian f___es! Why not just because they are using them but also because Ukraine is one of the most freshly mined countries in the World now. All mines will eventually have to be cleared anyway including Cluster munitions. As Russians retreat they leave behind many, many land mines because they think it will slow down Ukrainian advances and also because they are bad losers!
Ukraine has been using their own kind of cluster bombs but the American version is a lot more deadly. Basically there are two types America uses and the one being sent to Ukraine is the most extreme with over 140 bomb-lets in every shell released over a very large area (bigger than what you see in the video below) meaning anyone under this will be either k__led or very seriously injured. This will come as more bad news for Russia.
If Ukraine is to break through deep Russian defensive’s (especially the many trenches) cluster bombs will definitely have a big affect. They won’t be a game changer but they will seriously weaken those places and have a huge affect on morale. I don’t know about any of you reading this but I know I would certainly NOT like to be under something like this in the video below…

The video below - This is interesting because I have read of many Russian friendly fire incidents and I think it is fair to say this call confirms it. There is clearly a lot of disarray and apparently many of those unit commanders are either _____, high or simply ‘KNOW’ this war is unwinnable. There is clearly no discipline in higher ranks. Imagine how that affects troops in trenches?
