Agreed because nobody expected them to blow the dam although this would be a lot more serious. Even China warned Putin not to go nuclear in any way. I can see how everything would change for Russia in freezing the war with Ukraine but it would also trigger a big response from NATO.
Biden recently said Putin’s threats are real and Ukraine said the power station has mines all over it. They said the same about the dam and nobody thought they’d blow it. I suppose it only takes one insane person to set it off. Let’s hope it doesn’t happen.
Not only that, but if something does go wrong there, then they are not safe in Russia itself, for example, a large city like Rostov is not very far away from the largest nuclear power plant in Europe.

More than 3,000 such targets have already been shot down: more than 180 aircraft, more than 130 helicopters, almost 40 ballistic and more than 1,000 cruise missiles, more than 1,600 drones of various types… All this means thousands and thousands of lives saved by you, hundreds of critical infrastructure facilities that you have preserved.
Unfortunately, our state does not yet have enough high-quality air defence systems to protect our entire territory and shoot down all enemy targets. The enemy is taking advantage of this, as it did today, by launching another terrorist strike on the city of Sumy with an Iranian drone, including residential buildings and the building of the Security Service of Ukraine. As a result of these strikes, there are wounded and dead… My condolences!
We will do everything possible and impossible to make our air defence system the strongest it can be. Today, I was briefed by General Oleshchuk, the commander of the Air F___e, on our actions to strengthen our air defence. We want the Ukrainian air shield to be able to protect our entire territory from Russian terror, and in the long run, to become the basis for a European air shield. This is absolutely necessary and absolutely possible.
