Discussion about Russian invasion of Ukraine

Indeed he might not get the reception he is expecting let alone anything beyond that. BTW the HIMARS Ukraine have can apparently be adjusted for long range. I think it is only a matter of changing something in a chip thus removing a capped limit.

He might have his hands full soon elsewhere as Georgia may hold a referendum and ask if Georgians want war with Russia to liberate Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

I have said it before and it is worth repeating, it seems for a very long time the West has been hoodwinked into thinking Russia is a super power. Putin had 4 main goals in his ā€˜Special Operation’ and more than 6 months on he has achieved not even one.

This war has exposed many, many faults and weaknesses many never expected to see and in the video below we see their Su-25’s in trouble.

Russian Su-25 Frogfoot crash without Ukraine having to do anything

It’s a little bit more complicated than that. HIMARS launcher tubes are detachable and can be replaced with other types.

I don’t think so, as there are two different pods for the M270:

These pods can contain six rockets (70 km) range or a single ATACMS missile (300km) range.

Notice the diffrence.

Yes they come in a pod of 6 rockets loaded onto a standard modernized army truck. Ukraine received the M31 GMLRS unitary rockets. Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System or (GMLRS) which operates via GPS aided guidance. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s big brother is already there though because we learned last week Excalibur shells are being used and that was a surprise.

But the precise strikes right inside Crimea and then in Taganrog could only have been achieved using them or M982 Excalibur which is very unlikely because it doesn’t have the same range and the only way to do that is fire from already held Russian territory to the North of Taganrog.

That’s why when those precision strikes took place particularly in Crimea I really wondered what was used and I still do considering no Ukrainian air craft was seen or reported in the area at the time.

BELOW: In blue, where they are used.

I believe in Taganrog and Crimea they used modfied Neptun or Tuchka U Rockets.

Thanks for that jabbath because that’s another real possibility  :+1:

Are Russia’s alliances breaking up?

ā€œThe accession process is well on track. It’s impressive to see the speed, the determination, the preciseness with which you are progressingā€, von der Leyen said during a press conference in Kyiv with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy.

The crazy thing is, not only membership but when this is all over Ukraine probably will become a member of NATO after all. I’m sure NATO would welcome them with open arms considering Ukraine’s ability on the battlefield. After this I think I’d rather fight Russian’s than Ukrainians.

They have earned membership in Nato. IF Putin pushes the wrong buttons at the end of this, and it will end, he can’t stop them from joining Ukraine.

I agree 100%. The exact opposite is happening to Putin’s wishes. All the Ukrainian gains also couldn’t have come at a worse time ahead of Putin’s meeting with the Chinese. The Chinese will be more determined to stay neutral than ever and I very much doubt he will get much from them. Maybe some deals on gas and other trade but I reckon that will be about all… if he’s lucky.

Something just happened in Belgorod oblast. Explosions reported.

Explosions reported from the city of Valuyki. There is an army base as well as an important railway hub. I read most likely rocket attack again.

Any link, Jabb?
