Nice to hear that at least some of them get the situation. Mostly the younger people. The older ones no surprise.
So sad to hear so many brainwashed russians. If only they knew and understood that the west couldnât give a s__t about Russia really but just want to live harmoniously. But some of the younger ones do seem to have a slight grasp of the situation.
Totally agree Rob but when you think of the sheer size of Russia a huge part of the population are so geographically detached from whatâs happening a lot of them maybe just donât care.
Maybe quite a few of the older ones do as well, but are just too afraid to show that. They probably still remember the days when saying (or even appearing to think) the wrong thing could, and often did, reward you with an involuntary vacation in Siberia. They learned to shut up and say what the regime expected them to say, regardless of what they really thought and felt. Itâs not unlikely they automatically fell back into that pattern as soon as they realised the true nature of Putinâs rule.

Poland has donated 200 T-72 tanks to Ukraine. Thatâs alot! Thatâs more tanks than we even have.
The Norwegian army has in the last few days taken out of storage, and preformed some tests with our old M109 self-propelled howitzer artillery. Journalists speculate that this is because the government considers donating them to Ukraine. But official sources has neither confirmed nor denied this yet.

So true. What they miss is that if you live in a democracy, the Government can only sustain war with the consent of its population, otherwise the Government would fall very quickly. If they knew anything of the West, beyond the utter tripe they have to listen to on Russian State TV, they would know that Western populations have no desire whatever to attack anyone, let alone Russia. To the contrary, there is a deep desire to live in peace and happiness with Russia. However what they should also understand is that Western populations learnt from WW2 that if you have an autocratic country invading other states without justification, then you have to stand up to it - and fight!

I said it before and Iâll say it again. Putin said Russian security was under threat and thatâs why he had to do this. REALLY? Who is threatening you? I would love to know the answer to that question. WHO would even dream of threatening a nuclear power??? The west is NOT INTERESTED in threatening you. The west has enough to deal with and especially post pandemic. It is YOU Putin who is 100% paranoid and clearly mentally ill. The UN Secretary General made his point that this should not be happening in the 21st century. It was incredible to see Kyiv attacked as AntĂłnio Guterres visited especially as Russia sits on the council. What kind of message does that send to the World? Putin has shown a very different side. He is clearly all of the things I listed above unbalanced, paranoid, mentally ill along with living in the past making him dangerous. He thinks he is untouchable because he thinks he is invincible. Now certain hard realities are beginning to hit him. The World isnât what you think it is (especially Ukraine) looking out from your glass bubble. You WILL eventually lose this war and stop feeling so shocked at the Worldâs reaction.What you did was totally illegal and when the war is over it wonât be over for you as a war criminal.

Very well put Sparky, in fact whatever the outcome Russia is going to find itself ostracized from the rest of the world for a very long time i think if not for ever.
I just hope in the near future the rest of the world doesnât find itself feeling sorry for them as unless they have a complete change in the Russian heirachy and attitude they will never never change.
I do feel sorry for the russian people, especially the young generation as they obviously are aware, or most are, of the true situation. The older generation are not as they have had it ingrained in them all their lives or even if they are aware are just to scared to speak out as @Paulus said earlier.

It is very difficult to understand how one human being can justify such evil and depravity being carried out on other innocent human beings.

It is so sad my heart just goes out to these people, even battlehardened soldiers.have not seen such awful things happen.
