Discussion about Russian invasion of Ukraine

I always thought the Korean K2, German Leopard 2A7V and Israelian Merkava are best…

It really depends on who writes the article, doesn’t it.

Well Abrams are for sure better than the old T72s :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t know a lot about them TBH and from what I read they based it on battle-proven worthiness. But as I said I know dips__t about them.

I wasn’t clear
Of course the UN “Blue Headset” aim is to maintain the peace.

About a Massive attack I thought “by NATO” with (or without) UN agreement.

But NATO doesn’t need the UN’s agreement to act as they are two entirely different organisations and would go against everything the UN stands for and would be in contravention of the UN Charter.

We seem to have experts on everything on this forum

I actually read the UN Charter last week and it’s pretty powerful stuff, just a shame that no one takes any notice of it.

Here is a section:

Very fine words but unfortunately as long as the human species exist there will always be wars and conflict somewhere in the world its just the nature of the beast, always has and aways will be.
Very sad but unfortunatlely very true.

Hi Rob pal, while I agree with what you are saying most conflicts usually involve either
(1)2 “sides” disagreeing eg:American civi war, War of the Roses, Iran Iraq etc.
(2)Religious differences.
The war in Ukraine is simply a superpower led by a maniacal egoist who thinks he can march in to another country and attempt to take it over using false accusations and barefaced lies(as in “Our troops on the Ukraine border are on exercise and will return to barracks when finished”. The point I’m making is that this is a totally unprovoked attack rather than a war.

Well if not in Russia they won’t need a VPN then so no worries eh
but am sure it’s a russian time zone.

Former tanker here. Wow, something I know about! With respect, I think that you and Jabbath are overlooking the most important part of any combat vehicle, namely the crew. Yes, capabilities of equipment is very important, but the ability of the crew to utilize the equipment in real life is what wins the battle. Best this or that, well maybe on paper. My thought goes to how well the equipment is used. My money is on the Ukrainians in the T-72’s. After watching the Russian armor in action, these Russians are making the best training videos of what not to do. Hell, after seeing both sides in action, my money would be with the Ukrainians if they had T-34’s. Well, maybe not, but it would be damn close.

Hold on Ukraine - T-72 tanks & BMP1 IFV coming from Czech Republic !

Two participants answered me preferring to stay incognito. I modified the last statement a bit as the kind of writing will make them being recognizable. The meaning of course is still the same:

We don’t watch the news. We are ordinary people who are not interested in politics. We just want everything to go smoothly and well in our lives and our loved ones. But the actions taken by the politicians of our and other countries have a very negative impact on us at the present time. Many of our relatives and friends have lost their jobs due to the closure of companies and factories. Many now have nowhere to get money for food and clothing. We are trying to support our families during this difficult time. Everyone pities the Ukrainians. But the Russian people, because of political games, have bad times now, and it’s hard for us too. Why does no one think about the other side of this situation? We are just normal people and have never done anything bad to anyone and have always helped and made friends with people, no matter what nationality they may be. But now we are suffering because of the political decisions made by our government. We are also not satisfied with the current situation and we suffer from a lack of money for food and housing. But for some reason no one thinks about the other side of this situation…

Hello, we know what happens there (Ukraine), we only pray for PEACE!!!The rest of the politics and others we didn’t even watch and don’t want to watch. It’s just very painful for us that there is a war and people suffer, but we can’t discuss with anybody about it and politics

They should remain anonymous and I’m surprised any actually answered because this is a tricky situation for all participants in the relevant countries and people are very quick to judge on here

Exactly. Seems many are really afraid.

Of course, it is not a good time for the Russian people either, but they have the power to overthrow their government and end the war.

With all due respect for the Russian population, who are not responsible for Putin’s decisions, one must not forget that it is their relatives (perhaps also members of their families) who are k__ling innocent women and c___dren, especially in Ukraine. It is members of the Russian population who are responsible for the images of shot

So they are lacking in a bit of food and jobs and my normal brain would say that everything is relative in life as far as feelings are concerned.

But I haven’t got my normal brain at the moment as there are hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians without food, people are being m____red on the streets, women are being r__ed, and family members are being shot in front of their other families out of fun.

So please forgive me, but I have zero sympathies for these quoted people at the moment and I hope that will change in the future because my perception of normal has been contaminated to levels that I have never experienced in my life before.
