I was listening to a talk radio show from the UK and a Woman called the radio station to say she was born in Moscow but now lives in Wales. She said she has family still living in Moscow and none of her own family will believe her. They believe the Russian media and accused her of lies. They even said she is crazy. This is her own family!!! Think about that for a moment.
Obviously she is not crazy but if only people in Russia knew the real truth.
One of my friends Joanna is the managing director for TikTok in Poland and they had an international meeting this morning to put in filters to filter out all the crap and also to block all Russian content from the platform as they have been getting criticism lately over the amount of crap on the service. Which is quite significant being a Chinese company, but I guess they are protecting their business interests and it’s not really a political statement.

Yes I bet this is a real bitter sweet pill for China. They don’t want to upset Russia or the West. The only thing China has not done (for obvious reasons) is not show support for Ukraine or publicly criticize Russia. As usual all they are thinking about is money. I don’t know about the rest of you but I put China on the same trust level as Russia… Zero.
But I have to agree on the significance at this move being a Chinese company. Probably because there are more users in the West and yet again China wants to protect its financial interests with the West. I think China is actually sitting back and watching this like the rest of the World but saying nothing because they want to see how this plays out. If M____r Russia fails China will have a re-think and as money matters so much to them their allegiance will be affected.
@ andre85 Yes I agree 100%. I think when life becomes really difficult for Russian people they will question if this is all worth it. The West has imposed the most extreme sanctions ever and with more sanctions to come it is fair to say Russia will return to the cold war era lifestyle which will involve more impoverished citizens like it was in the 70’s and 80’s. Putin has said this evening that if the West cuts off all Oil and Gas supplies to Europe he will make Europe suffer. Really? I can’t see how because as the whole World (except a handful of countries) moves to totally isolate Russia I think it is fair to say Russia has lost ‘‘A LOT’’ of friends.
I heard on the Business News that people in the US are renting houses in Poland and other countries nearby via Airbnb.org
for the refugees to use temporarily.
