Clever things, Cormorants… the Chinese still use them for fishing.
Hey @David, here’s something you might find interesting. The azure tit (Cyanistes cyanus) is a common bird in most of Southern Russia, Central Asia and Western China.
What is special about this pic, is that it was taken in Norway last week. It is the first ever observetion of this bird species in Norway. Our little feathery friend has certainly done some flying to get here, so it might feel a little lonely far away from home. Currently it is residing in the garden of a lady who regularly feeds the birds during winter, so at least food will not be a problem for the lost azure tit.
What a pretty little bird. It puts me in mind of a Blue Tit but without all the extra blue, yellow and green plumage. It kind of looks like it has been dipping into the snow … ‘snow bathing’, if you will!
Thank you for sharing the photograph. ![]()
Wow what a cute birdie ![]()
Yes, they are of the same family of course. The blue tit is common in Norway too. I even remember it from when I was a boy a long time ago up in the Arctics ![]()
Well just to confuse things, we have a bird often known as a Bearded Tit but more correctly as a Bearded Reedling. It has nothing to do with the tit family at all!
Male Bearded Reedling.
Female Bearded Reedling.
The top one gives me E.T. vibes for some reason! ![]()
Wow, what a contrast to the previous video. Very interesting to see such behaviour though.
