Current forum bugs

I wish I knew where to find the benefits of each trust level. I know they’re out there somewhere, I’ve seen them, but I don’t know where to find them, or how to look them up.

They are usually liked to some written information about each one, when they are progressively awarded. Mine usually are anyway.

@letsdothis This was what I meant, in my last comment. Thank you Alli for providing the link.

Three consecutive posts limit proved to be just enough for people to add something up in case it’s needed. Again, you can always edit your latest post to include information later. I may be wrong and there may be certain time windows for post editing, but I think it’s totally possible anytime.

Didn’t read the whole conversation here after that. The only way to override it is to be a forum moderator, or a category moderator.

Deleted due to cross communication, thanks for the reply

Yeah, I saw you typing and jumped straight to PM to ask you to wait a bit longer until I’m able to dive into your issue. Sorry for inconvenience, just a very weird stuff there, requiring some debugging.

As for the GIF button, this is a known bug, we tried to reach out to this component developer in order to solve it, but no reply yet. I’ll try to push things forward this week or we will set a bounty to k__l a bug in this component with help of discourse community developers.

I don’t see anywhere where my so called Trust level is shown what ever it means?
I see from Alli’s link there are 4 trust levels described but where i am supposed to be ranked god knows.

I don’t know why trust level is not that transparent to user. I’ll check to see if it’s possible to improve that in some subtle way.

Your trust level is 2. In order to proceed to TL3 you need to spend much more time here, based on the data I see. No need to play hard here, it’s just not worth it if you spend appropriate amount of time here for you to enjoy the forum experience enough.

Yes a bit more transparency would be a good idea but to be honest these trust levels mean nothing to me. I come, i post and i reply. Ranking doesn’t particulary interest me.
So being at trust level 2 out of 4,wow, so i am half trusted then lol.
So if a higher trust level means being here more often then looks as though i shall be stuck on level 2 then as i think i am on now far more than i should healthily be.

That’s why my advice - just relax. Maybe it’s a good thing to keep trust level not that evident to see, to stop users from chasing it. It is really not that worth it, in my opinion. Especially doing that on purpose

On a side note, I’ve made a small hotfix for GIF button. Let’s welcome it back for now.

Peanut Butter No GIF by Jif

Well as one could say, i know my place eh. Just a member, nothing more nothing less
Anyway good to see the GIF button has been fixed.

Oh come on buddy. Forums won’t be the same without you

 Am not particularly going anywhere but just asked the question.
Am not going to labour the point but perhaps being called Trust levels is a bit misleading or even a bit condescending to some.
Just seems to give a wrong impression of ones worth.

This doesn’t work for at least two reasons. 1) it only makes sense to add something to a post if what you’re adding coincides with what’s already written. If it’s a different subject, or you’re talking to a different user, then it should be a new post. But, the most important reason NEVER to do this is… 2) There’s no new notification sent out that the post was edited, so…No one. Ever. Sees it!

I think you need to read the thread from where I opened the discussion on this issue.

This username has always been James, AFAIK, so can’t you change anything you want to about the forum?

This doesn’t begin to answer all the questions and ideas that have been brought up in this discussion. Please read the entire discussion.

Well you can apply for TL4 when you want. I will support you even though you are British and a nosy bugger :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow compliments are really flying around tonight then
But yes you are quite right in your summary  But am quite happy being a serf or in normal language a peasant

Actually, there are 5 trust levels, TL0-TL4, but you’re right, you’re smack dab in the middle. You can see your trust level on your profile page, under your avatar.

And, you can read about them here:

Easter weekend so I am extra nice. :joy: :rabbit: :egg:
