Three is fine for me.

Sorry, but that would look awful and like spamming.

How could a few jokes or funny videos possibly look awful or like spamming? Spam is defined as unwanted, unsolicited digital communication sent out in bulk. Spam is annoying, but it’s also a threat.

How could jokes or funny videos in any number possibly be any of those things?

Depends if they are funny or not doesn’t it.

If they are just endless memes, I personally find that annoying, but another person might find them funny and that’s the thing in that having ten posts with what one person thinks is funny could look awful to another person.

By the way, I added a joke so you can add another three.

I know you did, and you can check the three posts before and after that joke to see a representative example of what I’m talking about.

I don’t spam, ever. What I post in that topic and others like it on other forums, people generally agree is funny by their reactions. Just because someone doesn’t think something is funny, does not make it spam.

No one can hit the mark every time. Everyone has different ideas of what’s funny, but to hold anyone to that standard, that if it’s not funny it’s spam, is ridiculous.

No, it doesn’t. I gave you a definition of spam direct from a malware software development company. Jokes, funny videos, no matter how many there are and even if some people think some are not funny, are not spam.

With all the absolute s__t that gets posted on this forum, from insults to downright attacks on tenants and users alike, I’m finding it hard to understand why you would want to keep someone from trying to make people laugh.

I think you are taking this far too serious and personal my friend.

I disagree well known members who want to post can’t be viewed as spamming. Perhaps members who contribute to the forum should be exempt from this restriction. What is the whole purpose of this restriction anyway.

I wasn’t saying he was spamming, although admittedly I didn’t make that very clear and I have sent a PM to him to apologise in case he thought I was accusing him of this. But it’s all a bit of a fart in a thunderstorm to be honest.

I gave the reason why I think like this above.

I really don’t believe I am. I don’t believe in this restriction, this limitation. I don’t believe it’s in the best interest of this forum. I believe it hinders creativity and productivity. It’s almost as if VHTV doesn’t want us to post. I believe it should be increased or even eliminated. I’ve never been on another forum anywhere that has a restriction even remotely similar to this limitation.

You did, but I don’t believe that was his question. I think he was asking, as am I, why @VHTV_James thinks this is a good thing. Why they think they need such a limitation that stifles this forum. I’m still waiting for an answer from @VHTV_James, since they are who I put my questions to in the first place.

I think you have given a very good argument for the three post rule in the former part of your statement here.

Plus I do believe there is nothing stopping people from adding as much as they like in one single post so why do people feel that want to highlight each and every post in multiples of ten?

I think between us we are just going to have to respect each other and agree to disagree on this matter and leave the decision down to VHTV.

You’re being very diplomatic today pal

I have enormous respect for letsdothis and he doesn’t deserve anything less.

Ah you really have to bring the camcaps s__t of him in here? :joy:
I was happy to finally get rid of him :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you kindly, UKPolska. Very much appreciated. :+1: :+1:

I agree, you can certainly put as much as you want in a single post, as long as the subject and/or the user doesn’t change. For example, I rarely include more than one user in a post because what I’m saying doesn’t usually apply to more than one user.

I did it in this topic because the answer concerned both you and Daleys. If either of those things change, though, then I like to use another post. It just keeps things neat and organized and easier to understand.

As for the 10 post issue, that was a suggestion, however, did you know it originally started out as a 10 post limitation and was knocked down to three?

You know, this forum is really big on trust levels. Well, if the users are climbing the TL ladder, it seems to me at some point they should actually be trusted, instead of just being given a badge, i.e. to be on their best, or at least good , behavior, not spam, etc.

There are five Trust Levels. Since TL2 is right in the middle, that consecutive post restriction could be eliminated for the users who reach that level, as a show of trust and good faith. And for TL0 and TL1, it could be set back to its original limit of 10.

I sure wish @VHTV_James would give me an answer on this issue. It’s been at least a couple of days, now.

Well regarding this about constantly editing your post i for one is not going to go back and check posts that are edited since i checked the first time i want to see a new post. I don’t have time to be looking for edited posts.

Unfortunately the trust level system doesn’t seem to work reliably, I have been “awarded” the Regular Badge 4 times in the last 7 days but my trust level has only changed from TL 2 (member) to TL3 (regular) on one of them occasions and remained on TL2 (member) on the other times it changed

Yes I do know why it was added and put it up but Jabs didn’t like it so I deleted it, I sent you the reason by pm,

Plus I regret using the word spam as I didn’t mean it like that I meant it could look like a spammy thread, my bad on that one.

  We keep flip-flopping. I replied here before I read your PM. Then, you answered part of my reply in the PM, here in the forum. We need to get in sync.

If there was a new notification issued for the edited post, that would fix the problem. But I agree, I don’t go back and look for edited posts. We shouldn’t have to do that.
