Hello Julio, one of my closest friends gave me a list of films that I would like. So, when it was my turn to choose a film, I used that list. Before that, I had only seen four Hitchcock films: Psycho, The Birds, Rear Window and To Catch a Thief.
“Giant,”
“The Big Heat,”
“Rebel Without a Cause,”
“Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,”
“Throne of Blo od,”
“A Streetcar Named Desire,
" Wild Strawberries,”
“In a Lonely Place,”
“North by Northwest,”
“Rashomon,”
“La Strada,”
“Rear Window,”
“On the Waterfront,”
'The Seventh Seal,"
“Vertigo.” I would say though that all of the films on the list are worth watching.
Hello everyone! Today is our anniversary with Stas – we’ve been living together for eight years! We started living together in front of the cameras here on VH. Thank you to all our viewers for being with us all these years.
Oh dear, I’d have to meditate for a day or two in order to add to that movie list. As far as milestone films are concerned spontaneously some titles come to mind like:
Nosferatu
Metropolis
Citizen Kane
Ben Hur
Lawrence of Arabia
And that list can go on and on. But one thought keeps coming back to my mind. There is not one film on this list with music by Ennio Morricone. If you go through that composer’s filmography, there are so many films I would like to recommend to anyone who is interested in film.
So here is an idea, if you like to watch a documentary, “Ennio - The Maestro” is not only about great music, it is a celebration of cinema and will give you some very good film recommendations. It is a bit long, but it is very captivating. Made by Giuseppe Tornatore who is a great director himself. Thinking of him, let’s also add “Cinema Paradiso” to the list.
Oh, and I just noticed somebody put the whole thing on youtube.
