I think it may be more of a bandwidth than a camera problem? Remember that you have up to two dozen outgoing camera streams on the participant’s internet connection at all times, plus whatever bandwidth the participants are using otherwise. If those all were high quality 4k streams you’d need some serious connection. Might just have to be highly compressed 1080p for the number of cameras alone. Clara’s camshow camera probably gets allotted more bandwidth than each single VHTV cam simply because it’s a separate application.
However the cameras themselves obviously become the quality bottleneck when the image deteriorates in bad lighting conditions, which is a lot of the time on VHTV, though probably not during Clara’s sessions.
Also, don’t forget that VHTV wide angle cams usually waste most of their CCD area on dead canvas while the intersting parts take place in a small corner of the image, which becomes an issue when you zoom in like I do in my videos, while Clara’s webcam and light are set up purposefully to capture her beauty.
