It’s not like they are putting Z’s up
In the current climate this is just not appropriate.
While i agree, the pitchforks is a little much. They don’t seem malicious, just a little naive
Afraid being naive or not knowing whats going on in the world is no excuse.
maybe as an addition: I’m not only German, I’m East German. and i’m old enough to know what it’s like to grow up in a propaganda state. back then it was even more difficult than it is today to get another opinion, especially as a c___d. you only recognize the greater truth when you have made your own experiences with the system.
if pasha should receive his call-up order tomorrow to end up as cannon fodder in the ukraine, he and his friends will also lose the partying
and one last sentence: we are all bombarded with propaganda every day. be it in the form of e.g. political messages, advertising, or religion. everyone tries to sell us their product in such a way that we don’t even think of looking for another one. some are just better salespeople than others, and usually they aren’t the best of intentions. before we get upset about how young russians behave in russia, we should occasionally question ourselves. we would quickly realize that we all fall into someone’s trap all the time, especially in religious matters. so many wars have already been fought in their name, and yet not enough people come up with the idea that one should also abolish a religion as outdated and harmful… in the case of a state that is currently viewed as hostile, screams against it everyone right up.
and we should not forget that the russians are not to be equated with the part of power that is waging this war
ok, enough, and now back to something completely different
do we actually have a chance to communicate with the two of them? I haven’t found at the moment whether and under what name you can write a private message to both of them. if you don’t send pitchforks or insults, you might be able to do something…
Don’t think either of them have an account which is a pity.
Just so you know they are not Russian. Because they are not Russian could the holiday mean something different for them?
If that’s the case then I didn’t know, I’ll admit that. maybe that corrects my statements about the two in particular, but doesn’t change my statements in general
I need to catch up in everything that has been previously posted on what’s going on in the realm right now. I question if the participants are aware they are making a political statement with their artwork. They do come off as a bit young and naive. If they are unaware of all the political BS Putin is putting behind the holiday it seems unfair to think less of or be angry with them. I wish there was a way they could be educated on the matter.
Victory day is observed in many countries outside of Russia including in the state of Israel. It is observed to celebrate victory over Nazi Germany but also to recognise the sacrifices their countrymen gave and the millions of lives that were lost. Pasha & Arina are neither naive or need to be educated, they are fully aware of what Victory day means to them, to their parents and grandparents. Asking them to not to remember this day would be like telling Aussies and Kiwi’s to stop observing ANZAC day.
I understand why the decorations have upset and disgusted some of you, I really do, but I feel they have been unfairly criticised because of the attrocities being committed by the Russians in Ukraine, which I’m pretty sure they are against.
VHTV management should be able to convey our feelings on this to the participants, find out if they are receiving the true accurate picture of what is really happening in Ukraine because we all know that state censorship will paint a totally different picture.Based on that I think we should give them a chance to explain themselves if possible. In the meantime simply don’t watch this realm.
I don’t understand why this has anything to do with Ukraine. They aren’t Russian, they aren’t in Russia and they are celebrating a national holiday in their country that has nothing to do with the current war and has been commentated in their country for many years.
I haven’t really looked through the regional affiliations yet. i know that some live in the moscow region, pasha and all other friendly realms obviously don’t. roughly where do I have to sort them regionally?
We are not allowed to say which country they live in. What we can say is that they do NOT live in the country of Russia, as that has been confirmed on the forum by the apartments manager.
ok, then I have to and can live with the answer. Thank you
Without talking to them how do you know this exactly? I watch this realm on a regular basis. Not once have I seen them watch or read the news. They very well might not know Russian propaganda now associates the holiday with the war in Ukraine.
I agree, May 9th is not just a Russian holiday. It means a lot of things to a lot of people in many different countries. Just like you have said. I do not see why they shouldn’t be allowed to celebrate the holiday. They have never once done anything slightly political in this realm tbh. Well besides if you count this I guess…
They don’t live at Russia but they are connected in many many many ways to them by history, education, parents, politics. It’s like i say that i don’t know that my neighbors have a king
What?? All I am saying is because they don’t live in Russia, don’t read or watch the news and seldom leave their apartment. I can see that it would be very easy for them not to know things such as the recent negative stigma now associated with the May 9th holiday. They are more or less living in a bubble do to their VHTV lifestyle.
If saw them doing things like watch the news or doing anything slightly political my views would be different.
