Are you sure they are raviolis? With where they live, I think dumplings would probably be more common.
Call me a peasant but for me that is the same thing… 
Maybe it is an English translation thing. At least where I live ravioli is for Italian cooking. Dumplings are Asian as well as some European cuisine.
It looks like they are going to steam them too. I don’t think you steam ravioli that I know of.
russian version is called pelmini

They live close to the Asian part of Russia. It will be interesting to see what type of dumplings they will make.

Between ravioli and pelmeni? Those two things are very different.
depends on. comes with meat, vegetables, … what you want. more or less they are relatively similar everywhere and different at the same time
