Amelie & Lucas (Part 1)

Seeing some of the limp dicks guys have on VHTV I suggest you give some Viagra to stop them falling down. :upside_down_face:

Then you have some fucking idiots as managers sorry. :man_facepalming:

But what is so wrong about drilling some holes in the wall?

Some landlords will not allow it.

O by the way. Goodmorning to you all. :+1:

Hello! We attached two cameras in bedroom using the same double side tape, one of them is attached perfectly but another one falls down sometimes. We tried to use nails but the wall is too solid for them. :man_shrugging:t2:
Also landlord won’t let us drill it.

You have to increase the area of the surface you glue to the wall. Try the following. Get a small shelf board in the hardware store and screw the cam on it. Now glue the board to the wall. It will work much better as you have a much much bigger area to stick now.
You can try to get the board in the same color as the wall or paint it. So it will look nice.

If the wall gets moist for whatever reason it will fall down. If you nail it you might as well drill it as both make holes which can be filled in and painted when you leave. The quality of the double sided tape you use makes a huge difference. Good double sided tape might cost a bit more but it works a lot better.

That’s assuming the tape can hold the extra weight of the board.

No doubt Jabs will tell you the greater the area the less adhesive strength is required :+1:

The extra weight is marginal compared to the bigger surface area.
Let’s say the cam has about 250g and the surface area to glue is 10x10cm so we have 2,5g per cm²
Now we add a board waying 500g with the surface area of 40x40cm. Now we have only 0,47g per cm²

Easy math :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes because I am sharp

So you keep on saying, we may believe you one day

Simple maths really. A bigger area using a thin board thus weight does not increase substantially and you have a bigger area for the double sided tape. You need to fix the camera on the board with something other than tape, cable ties should work.

Four screws for wood and job is done :+1:

Screws might need a thicker wood, you can drill holes in a thin wood and secure the camera with cable ties. Hey as long as the camera stays up.

Four screws in a let’s say 1,8 cm board will be sufficient to hold a cam

Ahhh but cable ties would give you a slight gap between the board and the wall and the tape might not be thick enough

OK OK I give up, just thrown out all my experience as a handy man (at home) and when I want advice on doing house repairs will come on the forum of VHTV.
