Yes, it’s a heavy and shocking movie. I like Lars von Trier’s works!
I’m Danish and many of us, find his movies very strange
I would call it more of a love-hate relationship, I’ve seen almost all of his films in theatres since Breaking the Waves in '96, which kind of blew me awy back then.
I’m also a big fan of icelandic singer Björk, who played the lead in Dancer in the Dark. She delivered a great performance, won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival and later showed up to the Oscars wearing that infamous Swan Dress. But she had a quite miserable time during the whole production, there have been allegations of sexual harrasment and a whole lot of “he said, she said”, so apparently von Trier is not much fun to work with. And some of his stuff is really sick and excessive. The House that Jack Built. He kind of lost me there.

Dear @Agnes,
it is always a bit disquieting to see you standing on those nail boards, though I understand it helps you dealing with your bipolar disorder. I guess it’s all about agency; being in control of your emotions instead of your emotions being in control of you.
But I wonder, is it an exercise to give you the strength to also endure your bad phases, or is it more of an acute counter measure, when you feel an anxious-depressive phase building up, using the deliberate pain to clear your mind and keep your inner turmoils at bay?
Of course you don’t have to explain if you don’t want to. What I really wanted to say is that I think it’s quite admirable how you’re facing these problems head-on, and it shows that you are a real fighter.

Thank you for the offer, there’s many games I would like to play with you, but I’m really not into video games anymore. There was a time in my life when I spent too much time with gaming, so I decided I had to make a cut. That was more than twenty years ago. I have since completely lost interest in picking up that old habit again.
