After nearly 9 years - Quo vadis?

Hey there all ,

First of all I want to say this topic should be a discussion without finger pointing or blaming people even if some of my thoughts I write here might be controversial.

The goal should be to get into a civil discussion about the future of the site and hopefully improvements might come out of this process.

The reason and motivation behind this topic is that me and some other people who also follow the site for a long time kind of agree that if we look back just to the last one or two months I am beyond thrilled about all the latest openings. It just feels more of the same. There is nothing special. The apartments and sometimes even the furniture look the same, the participants do not have a really exciting or special character treat. So even newly opened apartments do not feel “fresh” or exciting anymore.
There is an exception with realm110 as this is something quite new and refreshing. The two big houses with garden we had in the summer also were a thing which was new and not the usual copy / paste apartment

So instead of opening more and more of the same I suggest that VHTV and / or managers (It doesn’t matter who does it) ask themselves some questions before deciding to open a new realm:

  1. What unique selling point will the place have I am going to open?
  2. The participants are credible with what they promise to do?
  3. The camera angles are good and some thought was put into them.
  4. Last but not least VHTV should have the last saying if the place should open or not.

It should be avoided to open the thousandst same looking apartment and the focus should be to get interesting participants in interesting places. This can be some special looking apartments, houses or whatever looks cool and not the usual copy cat apartment.
It should be preferred to only open one good place in two months instead of 5 or even more in one month.

The next point I have to say will be super controversial but I think we should discuss it nevertheless

We should reduce the number of realms on the site by closing places which I will call them now “low performing” ones.

How do I deem a “low performing” place?

  1. An unusually high amount of offline times
  2. The place is rarely or not at all in the top six most watched realms
  3. There is little to no attention to it (or only by one or two people) in the forum to it

If two of these criteria fit for a longer time I think that place should be considered to be closed.

Examples for low performing places (Not claiming these are all of them):

realm38, realm68, realm72, realm74, realm116

Why I suggest to close places like that?

  • They do not make the site look good to new and old viewers and might even lead to decisions of new people to not take a subscription
  • Overall they lower the standard of the site
  • Even if not earning much they still reduce the overall income of the “good” places
  • They can be a bad example for others (participants/ managers)

Other things I suggest to improve:

In apartments:

  • Test new better quality cameras and equipment in apartments who are popular and participants are skilled and interested in new tech
  • Test one or two mobile cameras participants can put where they want to give a better view of certain events

On the website:

  • Finally make cameras in the floor plan clickable and the floor plan expand by clicking on it
  • Get rid of the infamous “Ooops messages.” If a camera does not work just display a message “Sorry this camera does not work at the moment” without making the viewer need to confirm that by clicking “okay”
  • Give viewers the opportunity to sort the cameras in the list via favorite icon as they can sort the apartment list.
  • An option to operate the timeline and change the apartment and cameras while in full screen view

Now I am curious what do you think about my ideas and of course also invite @kaya and all the other staff to join the discussion as well :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Of course, I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t add my two cents.

There isn’t much in Jabbs’ post that I disagree with—I’d only add this (my rambles are usually long and drawn-out, but this time, surprisingly short, more of a summary of the above):

The core problem is the project’s shift from quality to quantity. Something that’s been warned about for quite a while. Forget the years-old promises of payment system upgrades—I’m talking more about how we used to have 8–10 stars among the popular ones, now there are maybe two or three. More and more apartments are adopting the “Radu” business model: a carousel of mass “guests” with hours of clichbait.

If we were once in a system of CB and cam-show exhibition, we’ve now moved into a tedious bait-based operation—or rather, we’re so far from “reality” that even us drama-seekers are yawning from boredom. More and more of us are staying here because of the forum, not because of what’s happening on camera.

Everything else—from the barrage of new openings, relocations, swaps, and the rest of the bijouterie this project has become—has already been listed by Jabbs, and it’s pointless to repeat it.

I agree to everything you said.

  • I think new guests are exciting but as you said not in that kind of click.bait scheme.
  • Less amount of guests at once and therefore the “value” of ech guest will go up
  • Everything becomes a bit too predictable. I agree to that as well.

This has basically turned into pure comedy. When someone in the topic expresses expectations about some event, and then 15 people explain exactly how it’s all going to play out—which then, of course, unfold in an exact way, it all becomes……I don’t know, like watching the same movie over and over and over again.

It’s unsettling to realize you can’t change anything. You end up fixated, as I’ve written before, watching cooking masterpieces, cat mischief, even the creation of artworks by performers and their space-cleaning methods through the cameras. When setting up a small pool becomes the event of the week, you wonder what the point is.

You realize this is the closest thing to the advertised reality. Everything related to mutual relationships, emotions, sexuality—it’s all just a business farce.

A big problem is that all the apartments look and feel the same. For sure also caused by the fact that many places are in the same country. That is why for many the houses this summer felt differently as there was much more space and opportunities for new things and acitivities. New things to discuss as well. Even they were still in that particular country.

Other than that at the moment it mostly feels often that every place does the same at night only the people are different and adding new apartments does not help at all.

One more point:
Looking at the posts on VHTV Telegram about new and returning participants they should be written a bit more realistic and more honest.
It is only superlatives and even getting better bla bla bla. Everybody knows that a relocation basically does not change a thing… It just does not help the credibility of the website writing that.

While I agree with your point about quality over quantity, I don’t anyone should be making suggestions to close places. I’m sure that in your examples of “low performing” realms there are some who enjoy what they have to bring, even if there is not activity every night. And in the same way I’m sure there are realms that you like that some people think don’t bring enough to the table or “clichbait” enough to want them closed. These decisions should be made by the business and be appropriate to what ever contracts there are.

Also I think worrying about the income about “good” places seems a little funny to me especially when it comes from someone whose biases are well known and have some form of contact with some participants, it’s like a conflict of interest almost haha. Besides surely more people would watch them if the other realms are not as good

I totally agree with everything Jabs said and will also add I remember the days of Anna/Alex, Melissa(Harley) and Sergio(RIP Freddy), Daniel and domi, Isa and Bart and all the crazy orgy parties. Some swapping and some not. Those were the days. Like Jabs said, with the exception of a few realms this has all gone by the wayside. Since the VHTV rule is you cannot mention a cam girl/guy name from a camming site unless the reference VHTV in it somehow. Why not make it a rule that if want to be a participant and are only going to Cam like Tinyclaws or Purrpaw then you MUST link it somehow the VHTV. Many of the camming participants actions are blocked by their equipment which does not allow us the viewer her a full view. This was also a huge problem with another previous couple which I can’t remember their names but he was tattooed and had a beard and had some 3 and 4somes in camming site

That is what I suggested. Not that viewers should decide of course.

With that I mean the places who get comments, get watched and are overall popular. Not talking about any special places or managers. I thought I made that clear. If not I hope it is clear by now.

Good idea

Well this is caused by several problems

  • The people who watch the participant on the webcam site do not care
  • The people who do not watch that realm due to camming do not care
  • VHTV does not watch their own places and therefore are not aware of it
  • Even if reported nothing happens at all (Talking about Arielas bear blocking the camera)

Yeah I wasn’t talking about what your definition of “good” is. I’m saying that it’s funny for a viewer to be concerned about how realms are being remunerated especially in regard of how other realms might effect them. That’s when favoritism comes into question because the suggestion seems to be to take away from realms one person may not like to give to the realms that they do like. I’m saying that benefits of “successful” realms shouldn’t come at the detriment of others

This would be true if viewers decided about that. That is totally not what I want. I suggested some metrics to use for VHTV and / or managers to decide together which place to close because of “low performing”

I’m talking about suggesting specific places. You named 5 realms, said they are examples of low performance and said realms like that should close. I don’t think we should do this and I don’t even keep tabs on those realms. One of them has been open for less than 10 days and you claim that they are hurting the earnings of other realms. That seems a little funny don’t you think?

I have a Big problem with the site in this moment, when you check de Telegram you can think that all de realms are making a lot of contento, but when you go in you see people on the couch watching TV, playing cards with some topless…

They create a Big expectative and in this moment its diferent.

I know that we can’t ask for orgys and partys everyday, but if all the time they do the same things I’m not going to pay.

Oh that you mean. I just choose them because they fit my suggested criteria. And yes I stand behind my suggestion to close them. However it is not on me or any other viewer to decide that. As I said it might be a controversial opionion.

The announcements on Telegram are often far away from reality.

It’s just clichbait, because they can see that in this moment, we can have a day with realms without any message in this forum, when we have something good a realm can take 1000 messages and everybody watching. But this is 1 day or 2 in the lasts 3 months maybe?

And yet, if you ask me, the forum is the main cause of the above listed “problems”.
Get rid of the forum and, without a single doubt, the quality of the main site will massively change

That’s it, nothing else is needed

The announcements there are made by the participants themselves so it is obvious they want as many people as possible come to their realm and watch.

BUT there is a difference between advertising and as you say blatant click.bait The latter should not be allowed and sanctioned if it occurs multiple times.
