A bad thing

what i dont like on this site is when you are a paying member ,and you buy videos ,and for some reason you stop your membership ,you can not see the videos you have i think if you buy videos then they are yours to keep what do others think

Yes I do agree if you have purchased videos then you should be able to watch them on the site without having to download them

Just like ShyGuy mentioned indirectly, that’s why you can download them while having membership

If this is true, then the purpose of buying vids is completely irrelevant. As a subscriber, you can access the vids at any time anyway…

Edit: Excuse to my fucked up English, I don’t understand… Download them? What is supposed to be the problem? Can you watch purchased videos if you are not a subscriber or not?

i not sure you can ,you got to have a paying membership ,unless its change when i stopped my paying membership ,i could not watch the videos that i have, now i paying again i can see them

As a non subscriber only if you download them

Why?

If you are not a subscriber and you cannot watch the recordings you have already bought, so they are not actually stored on your hard drive, why “buying”?

I don’t understand the part about “download” ?

When you purchase a video, you can download it to your device and watch it whenever. If you decide to not download while you have membership, or delete it from your PC, then on our site the video will only be accessible/ downloadable when you have a membership.

Exactly.

That’s why Mekhis post sounds strange to me.

But there were not any recent changes to that I think?

Sorry Kaya but that is incorrect, if you are an unsubscribed member you can still download the videos that have been purchased

Which should definitely be allowed anyway

Thanks a lot for correcting me, it actually strengthens my point :upside_down_face:

The problem is that achieving viewing vids would require completely reworking the archive system. Unfortunately, it’s a huge amount of resources for such a small feature

Kaya I have one question.
How difficult would be to add favorites on archives?

With the mess from previous years it’s very complicated to find a video, but once you found it , would be nice if you won’t need to pass through all the searching over again?

That’s true, but not feasible, because as a non-user you have no access to the archive at all.

But to have bought a video and saved it on a disc and then, by some strange key, to have it stop working when you cancelled your subscription was strange to me. It would mean that some script would have direct access to your video files on disk.

I’d love to give you a quick reply, but I can’t evaluate the feature right away. If you can give me 2+ weeks, I’ll make sure to provide a response, since our all-knowing BusyBee is currently on vacation.

What I do know is that this feature was challenging to implement for years, but with the recent archive rework, it’s now much more flexible and should be easier to play with =)

You do have access to the archive although nothing will play without an subscription, you can still download previously purchased videos from the archive as a unsubscribed member

What the OP was suggesting is that you should be able to watch the previously purchased videos directly on the website without having to download them even if you don’t have an active subscription

Really? Then something is wrong on my side, because when I am not a subscriber I have no access to the video archive at all.

I can see that you have one purchased video - you can try downloading it again when you subscription runs out. There will be a “get a link” button under your downloaded vid, but it won’t play online, he is right and it works for everybody the same

Oh stupid me… It’s all clear now!

I have one video downloaded? Thank you not only for the clarification, but also for the reminder

I’m really interested in what I downloaded, it must be a long time ago.

It should be visible in “My videos” section in archive. But if it’s not, then most likely the video was removed from the archive at all
