German premiere in super slow motion and millimeter precision 
The almost final act of the Rinsdorf/Rälsbach bridge construction project on the A 45 motorway is complete: Last week, the complete lateral movement of the entire half of the Rinsdorf valley bridge, including piers and substructure, took place – a historic event! 
Since 2017, STRABAG, as part of a joint venture, has been working closely with internal and external partners on the renewal of the Rinsdorf and Rälsbach valley bridges on the A 45 for the Autobahn GmbH des Bundes (Federal Motorway Company). Parallel construction minimized traffic disruptions. 
The first section of the Rinsdorf valley bridge weighs a staggering 40,000 tons. Using innovative techniques, the entire bridge colossus was moved exactly 20.59 meters while traffic continued to flow on the adjacent section of the A 45. 
The demolition of the old bridge in February 2022 was already a spectacular highlight! With the successful lateral relocation, the project is now in its final stages – completion is planned for the end of this year.

On the Isle of Skye, there is sometimes so much wind that this waterfall reverses direction.
Fun fact: As an avid reader, I just finished a crime series set on this island. Amusingly, a few things were overlooked during the editing process… and then it became the ‘Isle of Skype’.
