Curling… a sport that’s usually only really on TV during the Olympics. My curiosity led me to search for information about the production and origin of the stones, and this is what I found:

If the VHTV forum were a nation, I guess even we could start a team. Perhaps we’d end up in the Olympics? Imagine that, the first scandal would probably be at the opening ceremony :joy:

The mountains in China’s Guizhou province look like the backdrop to an apocalypse: all the slopes as far as the eye can see are covered with solar panels.

The scale is such that a drone cannot fly over the entire array — it simply does not have enough battery power for such a long journey. It is this solar ‘wall’ that provides China with millions of kilowatts of electricity every month.

Really good.

Sure, it’s a good source of electricity. But it’s a shame for the beautiful landscape.

If I understand correctly, this is the desk of Louis Bonaparte, Napoleon’s brother. Made around 1800.

That is such an incredible piece of craftsmanship. Thank you for sharing .:clinking_glasses:

Yes it is.

It looks to me to be made from Walnut, as it was quite dark and the grain looks familiar. Quite a stunning item.

As an aside, I thought the use of Pachelbel’s Canon as the accompanying music was rather clever, especially if the item did indeed belong to Louis Bonaparte, Napoleon’s brother as @JonR suggested.
