What's the best song you have heard today?

@ GladNGrumpy

Jeg advarte deg for to år siden tiden går fort. Nå er du der! :innocent:

Håper du får en fin dag! :clinking_beer_mugs:

Has the time finally come?
assuming no one miscalculated:
Since the original by Udo Jürgens is in German, Chris de Burgh once translated it for Grumpy.

This version was signed off as “OK” by Udo during this test run and has been waiting for this day ever since.
Have fun today

I’ve had a swell birthday. I just back home after a long day out, spent with the best mate I have who’s still alive. There’s Indian food, beers, rum and Fernet Branca. So the intoxication level is pretty high now, although I’m still able to write this, while sipping some Chilean red just to relax a little before the inevitavle collapse :joy:

Thank you so much to @Alek228242, @Mohrchi and @Lukas156546 for your birthday greetings. And Lukas, even though I was only six in 1966, I recognized the vast majority of these 66 songs immediately. What does that make me? A bor-ing old fart? I can live with that :winking_face_with_tongue:

Still five minutes to go, so to tap my own shoulder, Happy Birthday to me :wine_glass:

Happy Birthday to @David! Here’s to hoping you have a great day :clinking_glasses: :birthday_cake:

David, I’m not sure about your taste in music, but as far as I’ve understood, you prefer more melodic music rather than rock ‘n’ roll. So I’ve found a lovely version of a beautiful old English folk song to celebrate your birthday with. The song is sung by three girls, one from Canada (Jaydn), one from England (Charlotte) and one from Germany (Sina). I hope you like it, my friend. :hugs:

Thank you very much for your birthday greeting, @NaggeDanseGanseDaag. Of course you should have been included in my thank you-post yesterday, but I somehow missed your message. I’m sorry about that. In my defense, when I finally got back home last night…

So here we go, better late than never

Takk igjen for den hyggelige bursdagshilsenen i går. Det var en formulering der som fikk meg til å tenke på en sang. Og et gjenhør med Spooky Tooth er alltid en god ting!

Happy Birthday to Robert Allen Zimmerman, who is turning 85 today! One of the all time greats in the history of modern popular music, and one of my all time personal favourites. Here is a toast for Bob Dylan on his birthday :wine_glass:

Bob Dylan - Forever Young (1974)

Bob Dylan’s next concert is on the 4. of June, and he’s got more gigs schedulded for most of the rest of June and all through July. “The never ending tour” :musical_notes:

One more birthday, and this one is for the American singer Rosanne Cash, who is turning 71 today. She is the eldest child of Johnny Cash. Although this may have given her a headstart in her musical career, she definitely had talent enough to carve out her own distinct career and make her a household name in country and rock music. So Happy Birthday to Rosanne Cash :wine_glass:

While we’re at it, here’s an excellent version of an old standard.
