I followed your instructions precisely. All that happened was my other windows changed (I don’t like them like that - the darker interface is much better for use with my OTHER things on the computer) and the forum page just looks the same, still dark mode. The thing is, I have done NOTHING recently to change any of this so it must just be the bug you were talking about.
And it’s set to air light mode in forum settings?
Yes and the ‘dark mode’ box is unchecked.
The thing is why has this bug happened now what was changed the last few days to cause all this. It’s still goes dark for me when i’m on phone but not PC.
If you open the forum page with the Edge browser, is it also in dark mode?
Or when you log out?
does your menu show the sun symbol in place of the half moon ?
I just realised I misinformed you, suggesting nothing else was set to ‘dark’. I then went on to describe to kaya, dark mode on other parts of my computer set up. I apologise for any confusion caused by my inaccurate initial response.
No neither icon shows on mine.
I wouldn’t normally log out from the forum. However, if I do, then yes it has always gone to dark mode, prior to this recent situation occurring. I just thought that was normal and a default setting for those not logged in…maybe it isn’t though.

No as I never use incognito windows. I know what you mean though as I have seen that on my other browser (chrome). I don’t use them there either but I have seen what they look like. Incidentally this issue also happens on Chrome so I think it must just be a site bug.
By default, the forum should be displayed in Airlight if you are not logged in. The dark mode for the forum is a specific setting that can be set.
My question about changing browsers, or even logging off the forums, is about making sure dark mode isn’t enab__d from profile.
Logging out and logging in again might help, since updates are made to the forum from time to time. It’s also strange that the crescent moon symbol doesn’t appear on your screen.
So just try it. It can’t do any harm.
I have tried the logging in /out and back in idea several times as I had the same thought as you about it. It doesn’t work and my settings are definitely as shown in the screen shot(s) I posted for Kaya.
This is a weird one, I must say!
Then I’m slowly running out of ideas… sorry… 
click the enable auto dark mode color screen box …so that a tick appears then go to forum drop down menu the sun symbol should show if you ticked the box i just mentioned then click that , that should take you out of dark mode dont forget to save changes in 1st menu
