Criticising others heavily is not a psychological disorder but it’s associated with low self-esteem.
Giving constructive criticism to others is healthy and we all judge and criticise others from time to time but when it happens very frequently and if it’s done with the intention of putting others down or insulting others then the person does it in order to feed their own insecurities.
A person who doesn’t think highly of themselves try and find fault in others so that they can think of themselves as equal with others.
People that are depressed frequently use a critical attitude to keep others away. Some personality disorders also use this negative behaviour.
Lastly, some people just like to feel superior to others (such as domestic a___ers). So this begs the phrase: “The lady doth protest too much, methinks”
