They only need this there and light clothes
They might leave there shoes at the main entrance, they often left the last place barefooted. It’s maybe an Indian thing to do, @ToreyK maybe able to say

Here i didn’t grew up with that habit but seems lately it’s a trend. It was already supllied some “plastic bags” to put over my shoes when entering in some houses
