VHTV and the Chamber of Chatters

It’s all good… no offense taken. You’re right, ultimately it will be anyone’s individual decision whether they want to pay more or not… My issue is not so much the price, I could afford $10 more but I don’t like that they basically made a change that only affects some of the customers and not others.

I do agree with you on that point

VHTV retaliated against Trump by giving us a 25% tariff… :joy:

Try paying in euros and let your bank handle the conversion. I’m sure they charge less.

That’s not true. The change from dollars to euros is for absolutely everyone

Then be glad that VHTV is not a Chinese company

VHTV used to accept dollars… now they don’t. They made a change that means some of us have to pay 25% more and others don’t… That’s what I meant

Well, it was always the same for all of the rest of us not using dollars. We always paid more of less according to the exchange rates. As the dollar is no longer to be trusted under Trump’s policies, i can understand why Vhtv changed to Euros. Just to give you an example, the dollar is 38% down compared with the russian ruble. Mind blowing really

AFAIK the change was done some time ago already. Being a European company it makes a lot of sense handling payments in Euro.

The latest increase in US$ might be the cause of Trumps silly tariff poliy which made a lot of people sell their US bonds which causes the US$ to lose value as a currency as people no longer trust the USA as a safe place to invest money.

Interesting… I always assumed that those paying in Euros were paying 39.95 euros and those of us in USA were paying 39.95 dollars. I didn’t know that the “official” price was dollars and you were paying the equivalent euros at the time. The whole thing makes more sense now.

Yes, the “official” price was always in dollars for everyone

Why should the Americans basically pay less? This will be a thing many Americans will face in the coming future with Trumps policy. Trumps tariffs will make everything more expensive for them.

I’m not saying anyone “should” pay less… I was under the impression (incorrectly as it turns out) that VHTV was allowing payments in both currencies and was treating them as equal. Now that they switched from charging 40 dollars to 40 euros everyone is paying more. It makes sense now why the price went up when I considered subscribing for a month.

That’s totally correct

You are 100% correct, if USA citizens was paying in dollars then no conversion needed so you was paying $39.95, same with people paying in euros if their countries currency is the Euro they was paying €39.95, if your counties currency was any different to Euros or US Dollar you was paying fees on top to pay for the conversion

VHTV gave us a (not so) stealthy price increase by switching to a stronger currency but keeping the number (39.95) the same…

That’s wrong, the price was always in dollars for everyone, so everyone not using dollars, was paying according to the exchange rate at the moment

It’s not wrong John, the way I described is how it worked when VHTV offered both Euros & Dollars payment

At this moment and current exchange rates, yes, we can say so.
