Could be my older BrotheršŸ˜‚

You used to call people ā€œbubā€ all the time on here which can be classed as offensive

But anyway someone once said on here

Are you sure Mr Not So Shy ? Maybe go and ask your good buddy Not So Seth who was using that word. Again, i only use it back at him after he called me that way. Do your home work better dude and please Stop lying :slightly_smiling_face:

Careful now you donā€™t want to offend him again or have him pouring through months worth of comments to delete the evidence like he has done in the pastā€¦

Yes 100% sure you even admit to doing it in your reply, which is no defense by the way

Itā€™s not me whoā€™s lyingā€¦.

I am not sure what wasnā€™t clear in my response to you. I havenā€™t said that i didnā€™t use it. I said that i used that word back at Seth after he called me ā€œbubā€ lots and lots of times before. I never called anyone else ā€œbubā€. For your knowledge, I never complained that Seth was calling me that way, i didnā€™t even properly knew what that word means until you started mentioning that and i checked.

Ok, not telling the whole truth as it is thenā€¦

By the way, what is exactly offensive in using this slang ?

This is what a short search shows

This is what Oxford Languages had to say. Itā€™s also the first result Google threw up on two separate searches.

ā€œan aggressive or rude way of addressing a boy or man.ā€

Iā€™m not taking sides, here, just answering your question, or rather Google is.

Understood. Thank you for taking the time to explain. When i did the search for ā€œis bub a rude wordā€, this is what Google showed as a response

P.S: Now i need to be careful when i call my work colleagues ā€œmateā€ ? :open_mouth: :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Youā€™re welcome. It was quick. The search feature is built-in to Android. Just highlight a word or phrase and click Search. My search was for just the word ā€œbubā€.

If it makes you feel better.

Mate - one of a pair: I canā€™t find the mate to this glove. a counterpart. an associate; fellow worker; comrade; partner (often used in combination): classmate; roommate. friend; buddy; pal (often used as an informal term of address): Let me give you a hand with that, mate.

look like truth really hurtsā€¦

It depends on what gender they are ā€˜identifyingā€™ as, I guess.

Iā€™m not an American, but their neighbor to the north :canada:. How about they make the US normal again! :joy:

Question to you as a northern neighbor: Do you think the USA can ever go back to normal? or were ever normal? Something strange was always going on there over the centuries, be it slavery in the South, the civil war, prohibition, racial unrest (I hate the term. We are ONE race, just different ethnicities), Trump,ā€¦
I wonā€™t even get started on the near-extinction of the indigenous people and the attempt to present themselves as ā€˜the true Americansā€™, as the whole of America is affected, not just the USA. The only true Americans are neither white nor blackā€¦ if you really think about it. Actually, the antipathy towards immigrants should be directed against oneself :see_no_evil: :hear_no_evil: :speak_no_evil:

I think thatā€™s very hard to answer. The USA consists of many cultures and yet these are not really reflected in the political system at all. The fact that there are only two parties and you need the backing of millions of dollars from companies and organizations sponsoring you (So called PACs or Super PACs) to gain any influence in the political system combined with the system of the electoral college (Which leads to the fact that a president can win without winning the public vote as the votes of a person for example in Montana counts more than a vote of a person in New York) makes the USA not a democracy but an oligarchy.
And this leads to the fact that there is a lot of frustration as a very big part of the population is simply not represented in the political system.
